Still can’t think of any logical reason that Meidroth wasn’t running for Quero

I was wondering about that too. Made me wonder if Romo is walking wounded too or something. I also wondered if Meidroth would have come in had Quero gotten third with less than two outs, but if that's your strategy you're obviously running the risk that you end up with a play that Quero fails to advance to third but a better runner would have.

Not that anybody cares, but my Uncle Jim was roommates with the Pope at Seminary High in MI and at Villanova. Jim is a huge Sox fan still and keeps in touch with "Bob" a bit, but not as much lately f

f*** if I know. He’s an MLB starter who isn’t a power hitter…he sure better be able to bunt men over.

He’s struggling also. Looks tired to me

They’re about to face the two hottest teams in baseball on the road. We have so many slumping hitters and pitchers. They’re really going to have to turn things around.

I imagine Comerica will be hopping crazy this weekend. Tigers are on the prowl.

Well, things can change quickly. Boston just dropped a series to the A's. But the thing about changing is there's no guarantee they change for the better!

Another aspect is dont understand is if you how are going to pitch Taylor two innings, why not just let him start the 8th? Just stupid decisions

A little small sample size theatre for the crowd...

Doyle as a White Sox: .823 OPS, 11.7% K%, 2 SB, 1 TOOTBLAN, 2 DRS

Had this one in the bag and pissed it away to a bad team.

9th time this year the Sox took a lead into the 7th inning or later and lost the game.

These losses really hurt.

I'm trying to be positive but a win to keep Detroit 3 1/2 back felt good in the 7th inning.

A loss and a 2 1/2 game lead just feels really bad.

You cannot waste great starts like Burke had.

I said watch out for the Tigers seems like they've been playing nothing but bad teams since the break.

Of course the Red Sox start sucking after they swept us. It did feel like they peaked with that walk off win.

Big issue today was we took 0 walks. 0 walks for the White Sox is like Arsenal expecting to win when they get 0 corner kicks. I do fancy the Guardians in the next two games given the pitching matchups do favor them.

If we can win the next two and the Guardians take at least 1 then we get out of Detroit in 1st no matter what. That is a big if though with how things have been going

Bad loss due to the bullpen but nice to see both Doyle and Quero hit homers.

You should never have 18 of 19 retired against that bullpen

Did some research…in 9 of last 18 games, Sox have given up 3 or more runs in a single inning. Just seems they’re having a hard time stopping the bleeding of late.

I didn't watch all the game...can someone tell me why Chase wasn't available to pinch hit for Blackhole Acuña?

My guess is he is hurting more than they’ve let onto and we were essentially playing a man down.

This team went on cruise control when they had a 4-0 lead and never changed gears. Step on them with one or two more and they had it. Hudson blew but with soft contact. Taylor is spent now in another loss. Was at the game and quite frankly, watching Burkes pitch count and how he was cruising, I wouldve given him the 8th. Have we had any starter pitch 8 this year? I feel like Kay and Burke had a few outings they could've.

I agree with this being our worst loss....mostly because we played a team we should beat and the Tigers are too close for comfort. Have to brush it off with a W tomorrow. Have to...

I am convinced that he was a great pickup and will excel with our staff in Chicago.

Team is up 4-1 through 7.

Bullpen gives up the game and everyone is jumping to extremes.

They could have won and should have. Bummer. Just have to go get em tomorrow and have other guys pickup Hudson / Taylor.

The White Sox would never do that...

Felt like the offense called it a day after they got the 4-0 lead.

Play better in the next 43 games than the Tigers, Indians, and Twins while beating them in direct play.

Thats what we have to do.

5 or 6 games under .500 is par for the course if they were in the AL instead

I agree Burke could've gone out for the 8th.
