Is It Time To Call Up Bonemer?

Featured Replies

This team needs an injection of energy, and more importantly, a reason to fire Acuna into the sun. Any chance this happens??

If he had experience playing 2B and Chase was hurt, I would say yes. I bet we see Antonacci move to 2B and Peters move to LF.

Not happening. Sounds fun but don't see where he plays everyday. Also, rushing him to the majors in a season he started in A+ in the middle of a playoff race sounds like a great way to f*** up his development. Sox did not do anything bold at the deadline with their top prospects, they're still very much looking ahead to the future.

Crazier things have happened. It would be a move that would either make Getz out to be a genius or an idiot.

With that risk, I bet they hold them down… but with their growing ( apparent ) arrogance… I don’t think it’s as out of the realm of possibility as some may think.

David Clyde (18) was drafted #1 by the Rangers in the 1st MLB draft of 1973 in June. He started for the Rangers against the Twins on 6/27/73 .

I think this was a disaster but I don't think calling up Bonemer would be the same.

I’m really not sure how David Clyde pitching in 1973 is an indicator that Bonemer can hit major league pitching in 2026.

Sure.

At least no promote Cholowsky threads yet!!!...and Lackey just 6/30 at a lower level, but wowing with defense so far

at any rate, no easy solutions to be found for the current Sox offensive malaise

No. He's still rocking a 30% strike out rate in AA. He's only had 155 at bats in AA. People cant stand Colson's K rate right now and the idea here is that Bonemer is ready to contribute at the major league level. Oh and there's still a question of where he will play defensively.

Bring up Roch. Make Ant catcher #2. DFA Romo.

We should just turn Burke into the next Ohtani and have him catch when he's not on the mound. Opens up a roster spot.
