3 hours ago3 hr Another point, that we probably don’t want to discuss, but the odds are that Mune won’t be here after next year. Hate to be pessimistic, but I think the odds are 50/ 50 Mune is not here next year. (Sox won’t be able to sign him and therefore trade him in offseason.) So a real possibility that Vargas will soon be at 1st base, which opens up a spot in the infield. But I think that goes to Roch. So, still not sure where Bonemer can play, except LF. It’s kind of nice to imagine a Sox team with so much talent that they can’t find a spot for Antonacci, and I love Antonacci.

If he weren’t a 1B then I’d agree with you, but I think given our current payroll flexibility and the fact that Ishbia is eventually buying the team helps our cause.

It feels like Jerry's operating the team as if he isn't selling it to Ishbia (even though we know he is). We've seen reports that he's trying to stifle Ishbia's plans for the new stadium at Amtrak. He still has hopes that he can build a stadium on the other side of the river next to the future Fire stadium. I'm not sure he'll be operating with the mindset of "this will be Ishbia's problem in the future". I also think he'll still be a cheap ass who sticks to his guns about not signing pitchers to big contracts, which we desperately need.

You gotta find a place for a dude like this to play. The infield is pretty much cemented for the near future. If they don't try him in the OF, then they have to trade an infielder or trade Bonemer. I really don't want to trade Bonemer. I think he could put up 40 HRs as an infielder. That's nasty. If they do move him, we're getting a stud pitching prospect back.I also don't hate the idea of trading Colson if you can get a great return. It's a really ballsy move. Somebody has to get moved in the infield. Colson has some injury concerns and contact/consistency concerns. Roch will be our SS when he's ready. Edited 1 hour ago1 hr by ron883

I said he could play SS in this scenario and I acknowledged that this would probably be too much movement for our defenders.
