Yesterday at 03:25 AM1 day Fedde has to start out of necessity. I don't think he was bad as a bullpen arm, but the Sox don't have many bullets for the starting rotation. If the playoffs started today, Anthony Kay is your 2 and Sean Burke is your 1. That's insane. What's more insane is my thoughts - Go full blown youth and supplement with age.FeddeSmithBurkeMartinKayUse Schulz as a swing guy at this point. Sox must pick up starting pitching the hour they are eliminated from the playoffs. They simply can't do this going into next year. I would trade Colson for a starter if I could. if Seattle didn't have Colt Emerson, I would think they would be interested.
Yesterday at 03:42 AM1 day Sox in the postseason in the postseason is like the Jamaican Bobsled team winning the bronze. It's nice but they are not ready.
Yesterday at 04:23 AM1 day Every team reloads in the off-season. There is no guarantee that the Sox will get beck to where they are now next season or perhaps not for years to come. Getz and JR should have went for it. They didn't.
Yesterday at 04:39 AM1 day One thing's for sure in my mind, even if he's struggling, Venable has to stop wasting Castillo start days. Let him get lit up for 20 for all i care if it helps the bullpen the next few days. That, or stack the bullpen with nothing but starters.

For the sake of discussion I guess.I think there will be teams dumping players for the last month to save a couple of bucks. Even teams like StL and Pitt which are 5 & 7.5 back might be ready to toss in the hat. on 9/1.Martin will be back 8/28, he could be a huge help if he can keep it together. 9/1 I think Thorpe will be called up, I wouldn't be surprised if the Sox let Acuna go.
Yesterday at 12:18 PM1 day Our bullpen is taxed and we need help badly.I would bring up Thorpe and let him take Urquidy's place. I would bring up Schultz and send schweitzer down (I know he only has one more option left) and make Schultz the long guy.I would also find a fake injury to Brazoban and bring someone else up who can eat innings. Hopefully martin comes back end of the month and begins to look somewhat like the 1st half Martin.

21 hours ago21 hr For those who have asked “But who should have Getz targeted?” while I’ve continued to criticize his lack of ambition in seeking a second starting pitcher at the deadline:I’ve answered this before. Foster Griffin has been my response.Nobody can argue that we wouldn’t have been capable of beating the crap package the Indians set out to Washington for him.He may end up being the difference in the AL Central title this year.

All of the guys are playing on the big league roster. The revolving door of talent isn't happening here yet. So few teams have that. Then we ignore what a GM may want.We can bring up all sorts of scenarios and then there is reality.I think it would be much different if it were a team with veterans who are locked up for a few years. Odd to think the infielder that has been on this team the longest is Vargas. Edited 19 hours ago19 hr by kitekrazy

It’s my one major gripe with him this season. Some don’t agree for various reasons… which is fine.Hopefully this year unfolds where my criticism won’t be valid or in the years to come his choice proves to be the right one. If that happens, I’ll be surprised and will happily eat my hat.
