What do we have to lose letting Sandlin and Thorpe have a chance in the rotation? If they get lit up, who gives a s%*#.

Score some runs. Call up somebody to start the game. Whatever the outcome, the abuse of the bullpen and reluctance to bring up ANYBODY to help them out is just negligent at this point. Thorp, Smith l,

They didn’t have to sit in the pocket of either extreme. Didn’t need to mortgage the farm and they didn’t need to ride the pine.

There was a middle ground and all they needed was ONE more transaction to satisfy us all. Completely dumb.

I am SURE that if Getz had a Mulligan and knew then that Martin would have been in the spot he is in and has been stuck in - the guy would absolutely have traded for another pitcher.

IMO they should have just manned up and got Soriano. Would have been costly BUT they would have 4 of 5 rotation spots settled for now and for the relative future.

Oh well - Drew Thorpe can still come be a savior for him. Davis Martin can dawn his Superman cape and come save the day. Urquidy could shock the world and be a serviceable number 5. Fedde could stretch back out over the next couple weeks and be a solid backed piece.

They scuffled this one big time but hopefully we are in the middle of the biggest bump in the road that we will have to hold on for.

Still a lot of regular season left. Go out there and get em.

It should have been really obvious that a few of these guys were on borrowed time.

Or perhaps your suggestions aligned with preexisting considerations and your inflated ego equates responsibility upon yourself errantly?

I think we’ve had enough of WBWSF Talk and have a game that’s starting.

Bannister has been here 3 years now. This article is not a good look for him in a variety of ways. You simply can’t strike out on so many pitching prospects and not feel some heat.

toughest pitching matchup of the series for us. Really need to pull this one out

Pair that with our young positional core and the top heaviness of our minor league ranks… and a new eventual owner with pocket books to rival Cohen… fucking look out baseball, here come the White Sox… TraaLaaLaaaa!

Oh sure, adding Thome to the White Sox in 2006 or Cease to the BJays this year finished the equation. Look, this is the team that should have been bolstered at the deadline. We may not see a young group of players gel like this again. This is the team.

Was at the game yesterday. Dude behind me was wearing a cubs jersey but rooting for the sox. I asked him if he lost a bet. He said “yeah that’s it” then proceeded to scream “I LOST A BET” the rest of the game. It was phenomenal.

Well boys, Chase Meidroth said he's retiring if he wins a World Series. So you better hope we win it so we can free up a spot for Roch / Bonemer 😂

Wrigley is a different ballpark today, with the wind blowing in from centerfield at 8 MPH

You’re preaching to the choir. I’ve been extremely disappointed they didn’t add a second starter at the deadline this entire time and have needed no prodding in that direction.

But that ship has sailed.

I have season tickets to the White Sox and I think they are more assured of postseason play than the Cubs are. I also, before the season started, I placed a $250 bet on the White Sox to win the division and I can cash out now for a handsome sum or wait till they win the division and quadruple that.

Just to reiterate on this thread.

Win today. Not negotiable.

GAME TIME!!!! LETS FUCKING GO SOX!!!!

To quote Ozzie:

WIN DIS DING!!!!

And the sinkers he threw to Vargas that were in the zone were up.

Not exaggerating, this is where I’m at.

If the Sox, two seasons after losing 121 games; if they make the playoffs, but lose the season series against the Cubs, I will consider this season a disappointment.

Ummmm. Maybe I care less because I no longer live in Chicago but I just could care less about the Cubs. Isn't anywhere close to what a football derby is. I hate our AL central rivals more. The twins have caused me a lot more trauma.

It’s just all sinker and forcing contact

I debated on doing this exact thing at the beginning of the season. Kicking myself for not doing it now haha

I'm not even going to remember this series during the playoffs. Just a wild take that I would absolutely say he's joking if he didn't qualify it by saying he's not.
