Things are never perfect. It’s an inflection point. They will either figure it out and make ends meet, or they won’t. So far this year whenever they’ve been at this spot the results have been flying colors. We shall see. Just need to stay thankful that we’re even in a meaningful position well before expectations described… and yet, I will forever question Getz and his deadline “performance.”

7 hours ago7 hr Encouraging game from the guys at the plate today. Psycho Sammy with the triple, Colson getting on the board with a hit, Peters continuing to rake, Chase back to the party, and Peters showing off. Even Doyle had some good at bats and a stolen bag. Vargas keeps it up as steady Eddie.Tomorrow I hope we see continued signs from all of these guys AND Mune joins the party.Biggest factors for this club as the finish line starts to emerge in sight:1.) We need at least four reliable starters and a fifth arm that will at a minimum give us competitive innings (duh)2.) Colson and Mune are needed big time (duh)3.) The pen needs to get some rest and have at least three ( ideally four ) arms that are nails.4.) We must see this team play a tight ship defensively. They absolutely cannot be giving any teams extra outs. Get 27 per game. That’s challenging enough as it is.

Taylor comes in with two on and 0 outs in the 7th in a one run game. Gets the first two out. Gives up a single to score the tying run. Blown save per the stats. Yet he was never going to be the pitcher in the 9th to get the save even had he not given up the game tying run which wasn’t his runner anyway. Flawed stat. Edited 1 hour ago1 hr by JTB

Flawed stat.Even better, comes in the 6th inning in a one run game with the bases loaded and no one out. First guy GIDP, run scores. Second guy K's. Taylor gets a BS. It's a dumb stat to track with middle relievers.
