8/26 White Sox vs Rangers: Burke vs Gore 6:40 PM

At this point you are in the 3 to 4 million dollar range, not including his option. It's not much honestly.

...I don't hate the idea. And while it would look weird carrying 3 OFs on a 5-man bench, you'd have to remember that no one in your starting infield needs a platoon partner and you have another infielder in the OF (Antonacci).

Edit: and if you look at the 40-man roster, for that extra bench spot, your options would be either carrying 3 catchers, Nishida, or Perez ha

Oh god - I hope they can bounce back from that 40 minute flight and at least salvage the last game of the series

We need Burke to come back to form tonight and let's win the series.

Correct. Although we already have a massive advantage against them in tiebreaker #2, which is division record. Rangers are 20-26 vs AL West Sox are 23-13 vs AL Central Highly likely we win a tiebreake

1-nil angels. Guardians throwing the ball around the diamond

Site: the Sox have a day off tomorrow

lip: well did you consider they will breathe air, and might die

Yeah I've decided I wouldn't hate a Luis Robert claim (I can't believe I'm saying this) for when rosters expand. Just to play against lefties.

lol what a wild ride that would be. Then we will all expect him to look like he did against us a few days ago, then he gets hurt. The circle of life is complete

After blowing a 5-0 lead yesterday...will remain skeptical of the Angels.

Just so many things going CLE's way...especially Kwan and Ramirez.

September 1st - Robert Reacquired
September 2nd - Robert Reinjured

I would be for LuBob as a waiver claim. Didn't hear anything about him being an issue in the clubhouse.

Never in a million F-ing years!

One HUGE difference this year is the clubhouse, a team-first attitude.

Robert is the opposite of that. Did you guys allow yourselves to be gaslighted by all the BS the announcers were saying to be complementary Robert and nostalgic of his time with the Sox?

He’d fine any excuse to get out of the lineup. Do you think it’s just random chance that Robert is gone and the team no longer sucks, and he’s with the Mets and their payroll and now they suck. Bad attitudes are contagious.

Well, off day tomorrow after 16 straight. Either they come out on fire tonight knowing they're off tomorrow or they're already mentally checked out and thinking about some couch time.

I hope it's the former, all of these series coming up are all super important. Texas is not only chasing the AL West but potentially the last Wild Card spot (where there's a universe we have to end up battling for).

Same with Houston

No. Looking at the lineup vs lefties is what made me want him back. In nothing more than a platoon OF role

Bases loaded, 1 out for the Halo's. Cantillo really struggling with command.

Even though they came back yesterday, I like seeing the Guardians struggle with their starting pitching.

Suzuki was a fucking idiot to bunt. Especially with a pitcher struggling with his command

This is one of the most bizarre innings I've ever see

Angels can break this open. Don't think they have another comeback

Bases loaded walk to Neto. 2-0.

Trout up

Lots of potential LHP for postseason teams, like Boston, NYY, Cle

I'd love Robert for the stretch run against LHP's.

What are the rules around post-season eligibility for September 1 waiver pickups?

Bazzana hit by a Ramirez line drive off of his arm while moving toward 2nd to end the inning for the Gardyans.

There's a lot of talk about how easy Cleveland's schedule is on paper but their upcoming series are:

-Royals: Argulably the hottest team in baseball right now
-Blue Jays, Tigers, Orioles, Twins: All competing (with varying longshot odds) for the final AL wildcard spot - and they know they have to get through Cleveland to get it.
-Us

Maybe just Hopium on my part, we shall see.

If they have starters struggle like they have in the past two games they're in trouble because they can't hit their way to wins nearly as well as the Sox can.

I think you have to be in the organization before 9/1. So you should see movement on 8/31 where guys are claimed by an organization but not activated until the next day (obviously have to travel and wouldn't be on active roster immediately, unless their travel to their new team was literally walking across the dugout I guess ha)

Edit: I thought about this as well. You carry him as the extra 5th bench guy in September and if he plays better than Doyle down the stretch, than it's easy to decide who to leave off for the post-season

Not arguing for it, but the guys in the clubhouse love him.

Miguel Vargas on Luis Robert Jr.: "He’s my brother. Besides baseball, he’s my brother personally. I think what he means to me and the impact he’s had on my life has been amazing."
