Cleveland just lost a series before the Tigers came to town. The Sox need to actually win consistently.

To their credit they took advantage of the schedule. Other than that gifted stretch or even with that gifted stretch they’re playing exactly the same as the Sox over virtually any span of games other than the full season which the Sox have three fewer losses. They just lost a series to the Royals and let the Jays back in the race. They are not some juggernaut. The day to day ups and downs are hefty here right now. That said just win.
