One of these days, Venable will realize there’s basically two weeks left and manage like it.

Deciding to leave Newcomb in when he had nothing cost us the game.

The game was a waste of chalk dust on the foul lines. Frustrating.

Can’t keep counting on Cleveland losing every night, tomorrow need a W

Winning and staying 3 up in the loss column is very important. I am afraid we are about to go on a 6 game losing streak.

Yeah the only real unlucky play was the Meidroth liner. These guys slept walked for the first 6 innings.

I agree. Where? What fight?

Getting swept by the Pirates at home is just straight up embarrassing.

.500 record

8-2 in last 6

probably leading AL Central if roles reversed

When you have a very rested bullpen.

They at least decided to try in the last 3 innings. Hopefully they start out tomorrow by trying too.

Also didn't make a ton of sense to use him tonight when you're gonna use an opener tomorrow.

Fortunately, nothing lost in the standings tonight. Encouraging outing from Davis. Mune could be back? Sam got the adrenaline pumping in that dugout. Bad, bad luck all night.

Perhaps a productive L.

It’s pretty interesting to look at their numbers. They’re the Sox. We just have the benefit of being in a dogshit division.

Said this a few days ago and nobody took it seriously. They play in a division with two of the best teams in the league, if they got to play Cleveland and Detroit instead they would be in 1st

The whole thing has gotten so out of whack ever since the deadline debacle. There’s a reason teams don’t just start using relievers for 2-3 innings a few times a week.

Rough one.... Esp with Cle/Tor/Hou/Tex losing.... cya all tomorrow.

bases loaded in the 7th and 8th innings with 1 out, no runs

Sox played with some sense of urgency later and created chances, that Meidroth line drive more times than not is a double. Oh well

Story of the last 2 or weeks

Up 2 games, I'll just chill until Sox lose the lead

That's without a dominant Skenes and lockdown closer

Unreal. Just embarrassing.

One thing that continues to happen is Sox pitching can’t avoid big innings. Seems like over half the games since the ASB, they’ve had an inning where they give up at least 3 runs.

A ton of two out runs surrendered.

And lack of scoring with RISP and less than two outs for the most part.

It's frustrating but the magic number is going down. I think we will win the division and in the long run, this experience will make the team better. Next year it will be easier.

Facts.

What next year?
