Yes and no. The deadline acquisitions were meant to help, give that extra push, and as we know, they have provided absolutely nothing, have actually hurt the team.

But, Murakami being absolutely terrible, Colson turning into mostly garbage, guys that were responsible for a very positive first half have just gone to s%*# in the 2nd half, and that’s hurt probably more than anything.

Agreed but part of deadline acquisitions should be to provide support to guys down the stretch.

Didn't even bother turning this game on after last night. Detroit is going to sweep these bums. Season was all smoke and mirrors. Another poorly managed, poorly coached team. Awful trade deadline made

  • I'm still pissed about yesterday

And Venable getting progressively worse.

I honestly kinda hope they lose out. Put us out of our misery. The worst thing this team did is it gave me hope.

They played way over their heads for most of the year. They're just not that good. Unless there is a major influx of talent over the offseason, I look for a big regression next season (if there is a season).

I swear the Sox have given up 3 or more runs in an inning over 50 pct of the games the last two months

It didn't make a ton of sense besides Kay usually falling apart by the 5th. Overmanaging

They know Kay's been getting into trouble in the 5th, so they took a precaution. Unfortunately, they did it when the bullpen was not fully rested.

First half was amazing, second half besides walkoffs has been bad baseball

Pressure will do that to a young team.

Especially since we will see no changes with the front office and coaches

Detroit is definitely waiting in the weeds...and Mason Adams Revenge Tour.

Cleveland doesn't deserve it either, don't let this series fool you. This division (and the AL West) is mega ass. Just the rules are a team has to make it.

Both the Sox and Cleveland aren't very good, I don't think this series decides the division, unless one team would've swept the other. I could totally see the Indians go under .500 the rest of the way, problem is, I could see the Sox doing the same.

Tallest midget contest.

He clearly showed he couldn’t handle a pennant race

He totally Renteria'd.

We shouldn’t even be in this position if Mune and Colson were the players they were in the first half, those 2 and Venable’s poor managing are the culprits of this collapse. I guess Getz's failure at the deadline didn’t help things.

To be honest, they have been more competitive in this series than I thought they would be. Walks by the bullpen to lousy hitters have killed them.

I still think they make the playoffs because I don't expect Toronto or Texas to get hot enough.

And having a deadline that literally makes you worse

They play each other coming up, so guaranteed 2 wins for one of them

that's 100% what it is, chokers in pressure situations, but the real question is, are they right handed or left handed chokers lmao

Ambidextrous chokers.....like Reese McGuire

To be fair, this roster was thin and gassed. No idea what he would have looked like with a line up hitting even a little bit, and a functional starting staff and pen.

I couldnt enjoy rooting for this team because they've (likely) choked away the postseason and have played sub.500 since the may hot streak. How about dat

Well I've had a blast watching them this year and think there are better things to come, I have a lot of problems with the manager, GM and coaching, but the players are fun as hell to root for. I'm disappointed myself after an amazing first half, but I didn't expect much out of them this year at all.

Sure, but there have been a few games where simple common sense likely wins you the game.

Venable has coughed up MoY these last two games

heck these last 17

5-12 a killer to match 1-8 September in 2012

2008 was lose five in a row...then take three do or die games against CLE DET MIN-163

The starting rotation has been subpar, to say the least, the bullpen became decent but they're overworked because all our starters are allergic to going 6 innings

Meidroth is one of their only bright spots.

I see he had an error in this big game

Subpar and they don't give you length even when they do ok.

Hard to be optimistic about Kolson Mune and Braden though...

Teel should be better/hopefully healthy.
