I keep hearing stuff like this and then it almost never happens with CLE and even if they beat them, with our luck that will be the game we lose to COL on the same day.

He's way too analytics for me. Analytics helps but you gotta mix in a feel for your team. He lacks that but I understand he's young and could get better. His in game managing does leave a lot to be desired though. Like one example, IIRC, he put in Antonacci as a PH in a game the Sox were already ahead in game 2 in Cleveland, which led to Ant being out there in the ninth and not coming up with the last out on Rocchio's lazy fly ball that might cost us the division. Those kinds of decisions is where we take issue with Venable

The mistake there was pinch hitting Braden for Doyle, which meant that you had to leave Sam in LF in the 9th. That was just a brain fart. I don't think he thought that all the way through and it really didn't have anything to do with analytics.

I guess you're right. I thought Ant PH that game when the Sox were already ahead. Anyways I don't hate Will, clearly his players love him and that counts for something. I do have hope he becomes a better in game manager as he's young and still learning.

Never bothering with that again. Watched the Sox play a nice game after the cathartic playoff clincher and I'm sitting around pissed off a couple hours later. Cleveland and Kansas City are disgraceful organizations, teams, cities, people, etc

I guess the other part of having a team to really care about again is that it also means you have teams to really hate again. Haven't hated a team like this Cleveland team in a long time. Going to relish the day they get eliminated.

I wanted them to win that year where everyone in the AL Central not named the White Sox made it to the postseason. Winning is a habit.

I was disappointed but not surprised they lead the division. The Sox don't play well on the road. It might have been different if that series was at the Cell.
