Im not sure it would. If that game gets pushed to tomorrow with a double header it probably helps the Sox. Its really hard to win both games of a double header.

Then they probably would go with Messick in G1 and lose him until a hypothetical G3 in WC round should White Sox prevail...ultimately.

I would love for the Sox to be able to have a stretch like those three franchises have had.

You can't win a World Series if you don't get to the playoffs in the first place. You get there, you have a chance.
