It's interesting that the Guardians used all their non Williams and Messick starters today. Messick will be going on 3 days rest tomorrow against Rasmussen.

Baker somehow got through the 9th with a 92 MPH fastball. He's gotta be one of the biggest regression candidates next season. I don't see how he has the stuff to keep getting the results he's getting.

Getz will try to acquire him.

umpires tried to give it back to CLE

2. What’s next for Parker Messick?
Similar to Griffin’s next turn, the postponement could impact Messick, who started Game 2 on Tuesday at Tropicana Field. The Plant City, Fla., native was in line to make a second start in his backyard in Game 6 at The Trop on Monday on five days’ rest.

Now, the Guardians could move their ace rookie up to the rescheduled Game 5 on Sunday, when they could be in position to clinch the pennant. But how Saturday goes will play into the Sunday pitching plan

The weather will not be an issue in Cleveland, a bit cool but dry.

Browns haven't been in first place at this point in the season since 2014...two games in one day meters apart

fwiw

Rays and Brewers were the two best teams throughout the course of the season from each league.

Rasmussen vs. Messick a true big boy game in the crisp fall weather.

Most important start in thirty years for CLE, Darling?

try 2016 not 1995/97

His options aren't all that great.

Kwan with a great catch.

Baker gets it done again.

Tampa 1 win away going back home

Can't ask anything more out of Kwon in this game

saved two runs by himself to make it interesting

Rays win game 5, back to St. Pete to try to close it out.

Gotta think they'll have Peralta going tomorrow. Do the Guardians go with Williams?

Guardians really have no choice but to start G.Williams on three days' rest...

Peralta already announced.

That would leave Nick Martinez and Jax also in TB bullpen with one held back to start a possible G7 on Tuesday.

Rough travel schedule to fly and then have two more consecutive games with the state of the CLE bullpen.

They deserve it.

Tampa Bay now gets 2 chances to clinch the AL pennant - both at home. But keep in mind that the Guardians have been a better team on the road than at home this year. .506 winning pct at home vs. .543 on the road.

On the other hand, the Rays were much better at home (.679 at home vs. .531 on the road) this year.

I believe they are not going with Williams at all in hopes of game 7 but also trying to not overload him. Messick is looking cooked at this point.

Looks like they're going bullpen game. Armstrong is opening for a lefty presumably.

CLEVELAND!!!

I am 100% rooting for Cleveland. Them winning makes the Sox season look better.

Only four players on the Milwaukee roster are making more than $10 million this year: Yelich ($26 million), injured starting pitcher Brandon Woodruff ($22 million), No. 4 starter/bulk reliever Dustin May ($12 million) and reliever Antonio Senzatela ($12 million). By contract, the Dodgers had 15 such players.

The majority of Brewers players are either on affordable arbitration contracts or are pre-arb players making somewhere around league minimum. Chourio would loom as a player due the kind of mega-deal the Brewers have never handed out, but they signed him to an eight-year, $82 million extension before his debut. That now ranks as one of the biggest bargains in baseball.
