They’re going to pull out all the stops on Castillo pitching every 5th day. You can count on that.

If he pitches like he did against the Reds I welcome it.

Getz will still be hyping Castillo as being in the best shape of his lifetime coming into ST.

I am going to be honest here, 2005 to 2006 is in the back of my head, where we rode our top dogs hard, and then they fell off the next year for the most part. If it were me, I am 100% looking for big

People, for some reason, think what the Sox did towards the end of the year was this brand new strategy they will do forever instead of something they had to do because of current personal.

Whats crazy is if we did just do that trade? And look Bonemer the player and the control could be worth an exceptional amount. Nobody knows truly how he will pan out. However, What we do know is Deitmers had a monster season. And very likely its the White Sox winning the division and playing in the ALCS if you do that trade.

I don't know if its the right move. But I think its fair to ponder given the incredible need for a front line starter and how close the White Sox were, would it have been better to make that move.

When Jeff Samardzija is on the trade market, you do whatever you can to get him. uhh I mean Reid detmers

Not giving up real prospects this deadline was wise even if Detmers in place of Castillo wins us the division. They still gave up too much. I’d rather have Sean Burke and teams aren’t lining up to give away their best prospects to acquire him.

What in the world are you talking about in regard to Sean Burke?

Forget it, he's rolling.

that burke is a better pitcher than detmers to those of us with eyes. nobody is swapping bonemer and other players for burke.

we don't know this for sure since he wasn't offered by Getz

and the strength of his season was the back half of the season as Martin crashed

Detmer's August and September headline numbers are almost pristine

Michael King or Casey Mize

Kris Bubic

Adrian Morejon as Newcomb replacement

Morejon will get $11-13 million per year

Mize’s numbers with SD aren’t all that much better than Castillo’s

Fb definitely fell off in second half

Bubic or Lauer much more realistic

what real prospects were those?

I wonder what the cost of Drew Rasmussen will be this offseason when the Rays look to cash him in for more assets?

Only on a 1 year deal so should keep the cost somewhat reasonable, but sure it will still be a hefty prospect package

Not sure it’s one I want the Sox paying. Plenty of free agents. Go spend

No prospect trades. Spend money ffs. Lets go!

According to ChatGPT:

I think the Sox need to add at least two starting pitchers and a veteran reliever heading into 2027. Tyler Mahle seems like a realistic FA target, with Kris Bubic, Trevor Rogers and Jack Flaherty also worth considering.

I could also see Getz trading from the organization’s infield prospect depth for a controllable starter rather than spending big on a frontline arm.

My prediction is one established FA starter, a lower-cost veteran or trade acquisition, and bullpen help. With the young core developing, I’d like to see them get more aggressive rather than settle for another patchwork rotation. A legitimate No. 2 starter should be the priority.

Getz seemed to imply they would be aggressive in free agency for SP and right out of the gate. I think people here are over-estimating how much a potential lockout will impact our spending. I still don’t see why it even matters as you don’t pay players during a lockout anyways.

In theory, JR's traditional position wouldn't be to make $20-30 million offers for starting pitchers while crying poor simultaneously...

That said, teams with $$$ to spend should be striking hard and quickly before December 2nd.

If we're talking the Mahle's, Bubic's and Eric Lauer's of the world, maybe?

Pirates are getting rid of Skenes!!! Welcome to the South Side, son.

The last time the front office wanted to get out in front of a lockout, they rushed to sign Mike Clevinger.

It’s on the right track IMO

Get on the horn Mr. Taylor!!!

Imagine a rotation of:

Skenes

King

Burke

Taylor

Hagen

And having guys in the pen who can help ease in both Taylor and Hagen with dudes like Schultz, Martin, Kay, Sandlin, Vasil, and Thorpe.

Our pitching staff would go from a liability to being absolutely fucking STACKED.
