I only hope Justin Ishbia doesn't take a public stand one way or the other, it is a lose lose situation if he gets quoted.

Brother already has gone on record.

No need for Justin to add anything further.

I still can see Curt Schilling going off on Reinsdorf in an interview, it got real nasty.

According to a story in the Phoenix newspaper from back in the day Schilling said JR said something to him so personal and insulting that he vowed under no circumstances would he play for any team he owned.

In 2000 he was one of the names being rumored that the Sox were interested in, Mike Mussina was the other, but neither of those came to pass.

I haven't followed the upcoming Lockout until the last few days. The more I'm reading about it the more I'm convinced their might not be a 2027 baseball season. The owners want a salary cap, the players don't. I don't see how this can be worked out. Bryce Harper has already said he doesn'r expect baseball to be played in 2027. Another baseball expert has said on Youtube that is the lockout isn't settled by June 15, 2027 there won't be baseball season in 2027.

A few weeks ago I posted comments from a long time source with connections to the organization for decades.

That person had lunch with JR and they told me that JR told them baseball would not be played in 2027.

Take it for what it may be worth to you.

Lets say JR is right that there won't be any baseball in 2027. Then what happens after that?

College baseball players will be on less of a leverage spot for NIL deals.

You pull out all those VHS tapes, DVD's, and CD's of past White Sox games that you have or watch the many that are available on You Tube.

The good news? The Sox always win! 😄

I've got enough of those in my library to last a very long time.

Well, we won't have to worry about regression.

To be more clear, if the 2027 season is not played. What happens in 2028? Will the 2028 season be cancelled also? When would this ever end? If neither side gives in this could go on forever.

If I could take duped out of my post I would. Let me put it this way, JR was a useful idiot for the owners for putting his face and name out there as the bad guy. JR was the bad guy but all the other owners got a pass and JR to this day wears it.

I am not defending him at all, just pointing out the PR move was a disaster.

That's kind of why he signed Albert Belle. He realized he'd been played by the small market owners to wear it.

Reinsdorf must have said "Curt Schilling has integrity". That must sting to a man vying to steal millions from multiple states.

Billionaires typically don't become billionaires by driving the prices of their assets to zero.

Too bad it wasn't billions, he might have won a political race or two.

I don't see how the owners and players would allow the entire season to be lost. I mean, I see how it could happen, but I don't think either side wants that...at all. They really don't want to alienate fans, and that will be the biggest cost. Hockey lost a season to a labor dispute and had to make a bunch of changes to the game to get fans back.

Based on what I've seen about how far apart the two sides are, it's hard to imagine some of the season not being lost. Hopefully they start having conversations soon and begin working on compromises. I don't see a salary cap/floor happening, and that might be the biggest roadblock.

If history is any indication nothing will even begin until after the new year and possibly not before 'normal' spring training would have opened.
