December 13, 200421 yr Just like the trade last season for Garcia, it all hinges on the later aspects. [i.e. signing Garcia to a contract] Let's see what KW can do with the new salary space freed up. Initially the deal isn't too grand but the move gets us a leadoff hitter which was desperately needed [although not great, still better than what we had last season and a definite improvement in that respect] Plus, Ginter is a 3B that has a bit better average (.262) which is an improvement over Crede's attempts to hover above the Mendoza line. Plus, Miller Park is a pitcher's park so look for their stats to increase a bit coming to the Cell. If KW can parlay this extra cash into a front-line starter then this deal works for me. If not, then it's not that great.
December 13, 200421 yr Carlos Lee will win the MVP this year, I guarantee it :rolly He's in the same f***ing division as Pujols....who will win the MVP next year. f*** Bonds.
December 13, 200421 yr I'm glad I'm not the only one that thought "f*** you Harry" when he switched to Cubs talk so quick. He did the same thing last week when he said how bad Dye and Dustin were, but said how great the Blanco signing was. Yeah, because Blanco is so awesome.
December 13, 200421 yr I wonder if Milwaukee will get the 28-game hitting streak Lee or the homer-happy Lee. Over 162 games I'm sure they'll see both incarnations. Here's hoping Carlos continues being a Cub Killer for the Brewers. Thanks for your service on the South Side, Carlos!
December 13, 200421 yr If those 2 other names aren't damn good I'm gonna go apes***, abseloutely f***ing insane. KW...you better not f***ing f*** this up, you will feel my wrath.
December 13, 200421 yr i believe that's what KW's plan is. Currently, Williams has significant money available. As has been posted in this thread. If he's looking to avoid fan mutiny, I'd suggest he quickly sign a FA. The market is dwindling, and Perez or Clement may be the only quality SP which remain.
December 13, 200421 yr So long Caballo. Thanks for the memories. Go win your MVP. MVP? Yah, that'll happen.
December 13, 200421 yr I really hope those other names aren't BS. If this were a week ago i could hope for like a danny kolb, but what do we have to look forward to with these other names?
December 13, 200421 yr Kenny knows this could be his last year if he doesn't make some big changes. I doubt that a questionable trade is all he has in mind. Everyone take it down a notch.
December 13, 200421 yr all Im going say who told u he be traded from kenny willams interview last night when asked if he trade lee or konerko. He avoided and said umm time up just like on score about dye coming here umm and his theory of umm and wasting time dont work. There ya go people
December 13, 200421 yr We better get another starting pitcher from the free agent market, god dammit Kenny, that's probably why he rushed to Reinsdorf "HEY JERRY! GOOD NEWS! I CAN SAVE US A s*** LOAD OF MONEY BY TRADING CARLOS LEE!!" We better get a solid starting pitcher..... CWSOX45
December 13, 200421 yr I'm glad I'm not the only one that thought "f*** you Harry" when he switched to Cubs talk so quick. He did the same thing last week when he said how bad Dye and Dustin were, but said how great the Blanco signing was. It pisses me off because the sox just had a blockbuster trade and this douche switches to cubs talk so f***in quick.
December 13, 200421 yr Will you guys be happier when Matt Clement signs with the White Sox on the money the Sox saved by shipping C Lee. C Lee was my favorite player.
December 13, 200421 yr one year ago who would have thought that the Sox wouldn't have both Carlos Lee and Magglio??
December 13, 200421 yr DAMN, we're losing a lot of big names this off-season. Ordonez, Lee, and Valentin. No more "Ooooooooh-eeeeh-ooooh Maaaaglio" No more "Jose Jose Jose Jose..." and no more "El Caballo." Though we never won s*** with these guys around. It was time for a change.
