Saw it on Monday. I'll just say it's a difficult film.

Two gay cowboys eating pudding.

Yep, that's the kind of plot that gets Oscar praise.

I saw it and it was a good movie, but I couldn't help but feel that I had already seen movies just like it.

Rented "High Tension" last night. Talk about your pieces of s***. If the movie itself wasn't riddled with gapping plot holes it may have been easier to appreciate the film's violent nature. I'm very critical of this film, in part, because of the praise it's received as an outstanding horror film. And because the filmmakers are French.

**MAJOR SPOILERS AHEAD**

Several problems with the film

1. Blonde, short haired French girl completely displaces herself from the murders. The entire premise of her avoiding the imaginary murderer throughout the house, in the gas station, and through the woods is beyond comprehension as well. I realize it's simply a movie, but am I supposed to believe she imagined herself with her friend, in the house, while watching the ficticious murderer enter the cornfield? Too much to believe. It would be similiar to me committing an act of violence, not remembering it, but placing myself from the outside observing another person perpetrating the acts I'm responsible for. Understand? :D

2. The knife the blonde girl's friend was carrying in the truck. It's obvious it was put there by the blonde girl, since she believed it would be necessary to kill the ficticious murderer--but what about the back seat ride leading to the gas station? Or afterwards? Sounds like another moment where she invents an outlandish, unbelievable scenario. There are several more instances such as these.

3. Where the hell did she find the truck? Whose was it? This bit of information would have been helpful, seeing as the blond haired girl never visited the area before.

4. The dubbing on this film was terrible. It switches between subtitles and English dubbing consistently through the first half of the film. Second half, they don't even bother dubbing. What's annoying is the blonde haired woman, the main character, has a dubbed voiced of someone with an noticeable accent, whereas her friends is much clearer.

That is all. O'Reilly should boycott this movie it's so disappointing.

I saw Syriana and I loved it. I was lost in the first half hour of the movie however from where Matt Damon was drawing in the sand I finally figured out the plot and had no trouble understanding it. This is a movie that needs good acting and that is what it had. George Clooney was great, as was Damon, Jeffrey Wright, and the Supporting cast was great. The last half hour of this movie is probably one of the most powerful movie endings I have ever seen.

Does anyone else see the preview of Hostle and piss themself?

No, that would only be you.

For anyone interested it's actually Hostel. :D

It looks interesting. Wouldn't surprise me if events such as those featured in the trailer actually happened in Slovakia--the movie's setting. Areas in Eastern Europe are practically lawless as it is.

Sounds damn scary. Looks like Texas Chainsaw Massacre and Saw combined.

No scarier than staying in an actual Hostel. There you get to literally fear for your life!

I was doing this Europe project in 7th grade. It is where you like fake travel to Europe. You print a flight schedule out and you do research about the city and country you are flying to. You have to keep a certain budget. So they suggested you stay in Hostels. I looked them up and one of the hostels didn't have a bathroom. it was a pretty fun project though.

Sounds fun to stay in that hostel.

Picked up a few movies via Christmas/me buying

Lone Wolf and Cub Vol. 1-6 -- If you liked Kill Bill then make sure you see these (along with Lady Snowblood)

Fists of Fury -- Classic Golden Harvest Bruce Lee

Dark Water -- the original, GOOD J-Horror film that was part of the US buying up movie ideas from Japan for remakes. Don't let the US pantload scare you away

Freaks -- f***ing classic 1930s horror movie using actual sideshow attractions as characters in a circus. A fellow member of the circus treats them like second class citizens and pays for it.

A whole bunch of Marx Bros. movies (too many to name) -- Just see the classic comedy

Office Space -- ...

Kill Bill -- I loves my Japanese influenced cinema!

Hotel Rwanda -- I need it for a class I'm going to teach plus it was a great film

The Punisher (2005) -- Guilty pleasure. Plus it is fun watching John "Battlefield Earth" Trevolta get blown up.

Land of the Dead -- I am a huge fan of Romero. 'Nuff said.

Mr. Show Seasons 1 and 2 -- Holy Hell...thanks DonkeyKongerko for turning me onto this show a few years ago. Absolutely hysterical.

Just saw Domino. Very weird film however i enjoyed it.

Saw it a few nights ago. The really only funny thing I thought about it was the little boy who spoke spanish. I could not get enough of that kid.

Jim Carrey is f***ing hysterical just the way he acts, JMO.

Wolf Creek was disturbing.

Mainly for the fact that it was based on a true story.

Mr. & Mrs. Smith was very entertaining.

Was the movie good?

Meh, took way to long to get into the action and the movie ended way to quick, wasn't very well done if you ask me. The killing scenes were solid but overall it wasn't that good imo.
