I'm in quite the pickle with this. I hate to straight up lose it, but I'll feel dumb wearing it at games.

Wait until we trade for him again. He'll wind up like Baines and have three or four stints with the Sox.

I'll have it. Contributions can be made to the DBAH0 needs a Jersey fund. ;)

give it to triple threat sports to put a new name on the back

Keep it, but bury it for a couple years. Down the road, all will be forgiven and he'll still be considered one of the best Sox players ever. That is unless he wins a WS with someone else and is the MVP.

Exactly!

PS Is it OK that I wear my Herbert Perry jersey?

Sure.. I wear my Cal Eldred one all the time. ;)

I empathize with this, and it is one reason why I don't put a players name and number on the back of a jersey. There is nowhere near as much loyalty from either the team or the player these days, but that is another subject totally.

I do have two Maggs Ordonez Bobble Heads up for grabs though, both in the box :D

I've been able to wear my Frank jersey for quite sometime, and I think that one will always be in style. :D I want to get an authentic one this year though.

Frame it.

Wait for us to trade for Rey Ordonez and cross your fingers he picks #30.

I've got a Bowman Chrome Maggs rookie that I may be parting with soon, as well.

that is exactly why I only have a road 83 authentic fisk-never will go out of style

:headshake

I'd keep it. Even though this past year has really tarnished everyones opinion of him, he did have some great years in Chicago and I'll always appreciate that. But that's just me though.

Change the name on it to "Raines".

Raines is getting his old number back, I think.

That's a good idea.

I always thought it made you a Sox fan. Not a Maggs fan.

OH DEAR GOD IT'S A POLL!!!

Get the "30" removed and replace it with "$$."

I agree 100%. I either leave it blank, go with my last name or I go with an all star sox from the past...that never goes out of style.

Players leave to dam easy. I always did that with the Bears too. No matter how much I liked a player...I wouldn't get their name and number. I stuck with Payton or Butkus. Although my wife got me an Urlacher jersey and since he signed a long contract, I'm hoping he's around for awhile, but who knows :huh

As for your dilemma...I would keep it...Mags could be a hall of famer if he ever gets healthy.

You still should wear it. That guy did so much for the White Sox when he was here, and I'll never forget him. I'll remember the void in right field...and seeing spectacular defensive plays. He's still my hero.

IMO you ought to take it to good will. Some poor kid who's always wanted a jersey will be able to get one and you won't have to be caught wearing the symbol of Greed, Selfishness, and Lying.

I'd just hang on to it for a while. Consider the jersey on "suspension."

Never, ever put your own name the back of a jersey. You might as well say ... "Hey! I'm a dork."

Fisk, Ventura, Aparicio, Fox, Thomas, John, Horlen, Peters, Allen .... any of those guys would be good on a Sox jersey. But then, I've always been partial to Tommy John, Joel Horlen and Gary Peters, so maybe that's just me.

I saw a kid at my school today wearing a Sox Belle jersey. Damned if I didn't do a double take.

Cal Eldred was one of the best surprises for the Sox in the last 5 years. That 2000 season would never half happened without him.
