this is gonna be a long scoreless game if we dont have success against zito like other teams,, although zito hasnt been in the zone lately, not sure what direction this game will take but it will be a good one 

 

Zito isn't the pitcher he was 2 years ago...he's lost a lot of velocity in a short amount of time, and it seems like his pitches don't work as well overall as they used to.

 

Of course, losing velocity between 2003 and 2005 usually means 1 thing...the S word...

Why no Pods?

 

Zito is a lefty.

 

He hits righties better than lefties even though he is 6-11 against them this year. He has only hit .246 off of them the last three years with an obp of .312. Against righties the last three years he has hit .284 with an obp of .354.

I'm sick of Ozzie screwing with the lineups. Pods is the best leadoff guy we've had in AGES and he doesn't start him against Barry motherf***ing Zito, who we'll probably need a speedy guy who will agitate the pitcher.

 

Pablo's a great guy but he can't hold Pods jockstrap when it comes to running the bases.

I agree...at this point, Pods has already had 1 week off...he can't need another day off yet...and he's been one of our hottest guys lately.

Zito is also very easy to steal against. Podsednik should be starting every game that he's not injured.

So because Canseco and Mcguire took steroids over 10 years ago and Zito has been off the past couple of seasons he must be on steroids. That's f***ing stupid.

Exactly, if a player all of a sudden struggles or does good it's always steroid related.

Against lefty pitching, I really would like to see Rowand batting 3rd. Everett just doesn't have a very good approach against lefties like he does righties.

Zito wasn't on steroids. Rather, he pitched a ton of innings at an early age in the majors, and his velocity is paying the price for that usage. Same thing has happened to numerous other pitchers.
