October 2, 200520 yr What a ride it has been. Just reflecting back on 2005, I have been a Sox fan as long as I have been alive, and I don't ever remember seeing a season with such an incredible range between the ups and downs. And all we need now is 11 more wins to make it the best season that any of us have EVER seen, or possibly ever will see again. Regardless I am so proud of the boys this year. There is no where near the talent that we have seen for a few years now, yet these guys have such a deep burning desire to just win. It almost doesn't seem real even today. I'd like everyone to take a chance to revel, reflect, glow, etc. Talk about your memories so far of 2005, your individual stories, your ups and downs etc. I think it would be a cool thread to see 2005 through the eyes of Soxtalk
October 2, 200520 yr Whatever happens in the next few days will be forever burned into my permanent Sox memory. I just hope there's more good moments left in this season. Finishing on a 5 game winning streak headed into the postseason is certainly a good way to go.
October 2, 200520 yr All you can ask of your GM is to get you to the playoffs. Just, to give the team and city a chance to experience what post-season play is all about. Kenny did it. Regardless of what happens, this has been a successful season. Now, go beat some Boston ass!
October 2, 200520 yr It's amazing how much opening day set a tone for this season. Pitching and defense, 1-0 win and a lot of us were extremely upbeat after that game cause in years past that was a game we found a way to lose.
October 2, 200520 yr Great year, I had to laugh at ESPN2 feed today they kept saying the Indians are not doing so and so and that is why they are losing last 2 games, never ONCE saying the White sox are the reason :finger CLEV Edited October 2, 200520 yr by Soxfest
October 2, 200520 yr What a great season it's been. From the beginning seeing many of you at Soxfest, to the games at the park this year, to watching all of the great one run wins all season on television, it's been awesome. Wouldn't trade it for anything. I think this calls for Everyone, give me a HELL YEAH! HELL YEAH!
October 2, 200520 yr Great Season I was too young to cherish the 2000 team but I will not forget this This Season has brought down some of the most exciting and heartbraking games I have ever watched In a way it is sad to see the regular season come to an end But lets come into the playoffs and kick some ass Highlights: Pierzynski Game Rowand 3 run homer in San Diego Thomas's brief surge of greatness Voting Pods into allstar game Clinching the Divison and winning 99 games Rally Crede Lowlights: Losing two out of three to the cubs at home Month of August 7 game losing streak Edited October 2, 200520 yr by GoRowand33
October 2, 200520 yr i think my favorite live moment was an angels game i went to with my brother...we tied the game at 2-2...then jermaine dye hit a walk-off homerun to win it...(obviously hence walkoff) well, i know jermaine dye had a walk off...the rest is a bit fuzzy due to outside liquid influences
October 2, 200520 yr 99 wins. Very incredable and unexpecting as for as I'm concered. I never thought we'd get over 90 wins.

October 2, 200520 yr In a drunken rant at Social Hour back in March...I spent about an hour explaining why this team could very well take that division. I'm glad my drunken self was proven right.
October 2, 200520 yr best game i went to that pierzynski walk off homer against the dodgers worst game i went to that 16 inning game i stayed for the whole thing, thinking they would pull it out. but, freakin adkins gives up 5 runs in the 16th. that sucked

October 3, 200520 yr Aj homer against the Dodgers Crede homer vs. The Tribe Iguchi being the goods. Pods stealing the league blind for three months. Jon G. going 8-0. Buehrle starting and winning the all-star game. Frank showing up to hit bomb after bomb for five weeks. Jermaine Dye helping us forget about Magglio. Dustin Hermanson making us forget about Shingo. Neil Cotts becoming unhittable. Brian Anderson's two homers against Seattle ARow catching everything in Yankee Stadium. Paulie hitting 40 -- and hopefully getting a new contract. BMac beating Boston on the one-day trip bobby Jenks hitting triple digits on the mph. Freddy winning the clincher at Detroit. and Baseball Prospectus predicting we would battle the Royals for last place in the AL Central. You can look THAT up in the 2005 Baseball Prospectus YearBOOK
October 3, 200520 yr 2nd best record, the post season will determine if it really is the 2nd best team, it may well be the best since 1917. Being a north suburbs guy almost all my life, one of the joys of this season, and it was the same in '04 and '03 was hanging with dozens and dozens of Sox fans, instead of the usual few I hng out with in Chicago. Having to watch most games via mlb.tv and my computer allowed me to also log in here, that made it so much better.
October 3, 200520 yr Hey knight... You remember when I called this kind of season back in February/March?
October 3, 200520 yr All I wanted this season was the team to make the playoffs. They accomplished that, so no matter what happens the rest of the way, it was a fantastic season!
