So Sox fans would have to spend $125 to win $100?

Astros fans win $105 by betting $100?

Exactly

I am curious.

I seem to remember awhile back in March that a few members here went to Vegas and bet on the Sox when the odds were high.

Can you find that thread?

:crying :banghead

Don't remind me. I was in Vegas during a March Madness weekend and this/close to dropping $100 on the Sox. I thought to myself at the time "Why waste $100"

:o :o :o

Didn't read this all to see if it's here (sorry if it is) but here's Scott's 3 year totals against Houston..

vs. HOU

149 23 43 7 2 7 18 13 0 3 0 18 3 .289 .346 .503 .849

Not too bad.

My 1 worry along those lines is that Scotty probably hasn't seen Pettitte's move, and he's got one that rivals Buehrle.

But given all the rest we've gotten during this postseason, and the fact that he was moving on the Angels pitchers repeatedly, I think we do have a shot at a very successful running game. Ausmus was throwing out runners at about a .315 clip this year, which was only slightly better than Bengie Molina's numbers.

Clemens on the road scares me

a lot of their rotation anywhere scares me...but you know what doesn't? their lineup. pretty much top to bottom. especially against our pitching staff.

Fast Facts:

• This year's World Series will be between a team that has never been there against a team that has not been there in 46 years. There has been only one other World Series between teams that each had not appeared in the Series in the previous 20 years. In 1948 the Indians (in their first appearance since 1920) beat the Boston Braves (first Series since 1914).

• Craig Biggio has appeared in 2,564 regular-season games but he's never played in the World Series. That would be the most career games for any player who was appearing in the World Series for the first time. That distinction is currently held by Barry Bonds (2,439 games). Three players have appeared in at least 2,500 games without ever playing in the World Series: Rafael Palmeiro (2,831), Andre Dawson (2,627) and Ernie Banks (2,528).

•Spooky stat - Frank Thomas has appeared in 1959 regular season games.  1959 was the last year the White Sox appeared in the World Series.

• Carl Everett is the only player in major-league history to appear in at least 200 games for both the Astros and the White Sox.

Third baseman Morgan Ensberg admitted he had already heard from White Sox infielder Geoff Blum, an old friend and former Houston teammate.

"We've been text messaging," Ensberg said. "I can't wait to see him."

White Sox outfielder/designated hitter Carl Everett was a key cog in the Astros' playoff team in the late '90s and was teammates with Jeff Bagwell and Craig Biggio. Everett was dealt to the Red Sox in the deal that brought shortstop Adam Everett to Houston.

White Sox right-hander Freddy Garcia was originally signed by Houston and went to Seattle in 1998 in the Randy Johnson trade.

Other than those two and Blum, the Astros do not have any former teammates with Chicago. The Astros also aren't familiar with U.S. Cellular Field.

Ump assignments are out:

Game One

HP Joe West*

1B Jeff Nelson

2B Jerry Layne

3B Derryl Cousins

LF Gary Cederstrom

RF Angel Hernandez

* Crew Chief

West is the guy that tangled with Ozzie last year about what releif pitcher he called, and led to MB taping large L and R s on Oz's jacket.

As long as there's no Wendelstedt (sp?), Froemming or Gorman listed, I don't care.
