I like the idea of Billy Pierce throwing out the first pitch. Being that for reasons past understanding he didn't get to start in the '59 World Series, I think it would be fitting tribute.

Either: Get the entire living '59 team out there and have Pierce actually throw it.

Or: One of the oldest White Sox fans, whoever that may be. Maybe the longest standing season ticket holder families?

I think it should be the two ex-White Sox that helped us get here!

Josh Paul and Tony Graffanino

Ncorgbl?? was that the spelling?

He might say he was inline to do it, cause of his realtionshp with Einhorn :banghead

Wow, this is a tough call. There are so many people who could do it, but so few chances. I would have to say Rich Daley in close call, but Billy Pierce would be my 1A choice. I guess it depends on if you want a face of Chicago, or a face of the Chicago White Sox.

The White Sox are trying to get Luis Aparicio to throw out the first pitch in Game 1. I just heard it on the Score.

Actually, did anybody mention Al Lopez? I guess those who suggested the entire surviving '59 club sort of did.

At 97 (or whatever age they said he was), he looked pretty spry in Anaheim last week.

Yeah, I'd go with Al for one of these games for sure.

Billy Pierce

Aparicio

Frank, Pierce both of them did it all ready.

Daley would be a good choice. Maybe for game 2.

No, to Blago. :nono

Why would the Sox have Billy Pierce throw out the first pitch of the World Series game 1 if he already threw out the first pitch for game 1 of the ALCS? That is incredibly lame.

Good luck? It worked once, go with it again. :huh

I guess you could salute the last Sox team to win 99 games. Tony LaRussa might be available to do it. :P

Actually, that's the only game they've lost so far.

It was just reported again...

They are trying to get Luis to throw out the first pitch for game one and Carlton Fisk for Game two.

Personally, I think being so close to halloween they should just have a seance and the first player from either 1917 or 1959 to respond gets to throw the first pitch.

But we won the series.

I'm shocked you'd see the glass half empty though.

John Cusack or Ron Santo.

Give it a rest. A lot of people didn't want Jordan throwing out the first pitch because they lost the last playoff game that he did.

Face of the Sox, IMO. The city has been crap to the team for a few years now, IMO. Don't forget your own legacy.

Actually longtime Sox pitching coach(also of the 59' team) Ray Berres is also 97 and is very very alive and well. You could have Al Lopez pitch and Berres be the catcher. That would be something for these guys and fans to remember.

Would Berres be able to get down in a squat?

EDIT: AND get up again?

I liked the Fisk/Black Jack combo on Carlton Fisk day (I was there! :D), but I voted for Big Frank.
