Well I'm biased against Turner, but he definitely had a rough day at least yesterday.  Also, our running game has to do with having very good tailbacks and a solid, veteran offensive line IMO.  And as for the Bears having a good offense if their QB was worth anything.......shh don't say that!! Orton is awesome, he wins!!!  :headshake

I think it'd be more accurate to say he hasn't lost.

I agree with you, although as a Bear fan who realizes the truth about Orton, I feel i'm fighting a losing battle here.

Bears Super Bowl?

Get over yourselves. We'll see how the Bears match up two weeks from now against someone not in the NFC (not named Seattle or New York, of course).

I still say fluke. Badmouth me all you want, but their luck will run out. The Bears have done much better than I thought, I'll admit that, but I still think a lot of it is a function of playing the NFC.

Ahh, Kyle Orton, 17th in passer rating in a league with 16 teams.

Well what the hell do you want them to do? Demand a conference change?

I'm just saying that their record is largely a function of playing in a weaker conference. I seriously doubt they'd have an 8-3 record...any idea that the Bears are Super Bowl worthy just isn't right.

The teams they have beaten have a combined 47-51 record. The teams they have lost to are a combined 17-16. Just throwin' that out there.

Pittsburgh minus Rothlesburger (sp) is VERY beatable.

Never mind the fact that they are coming off back to back wins against NFC South teams.

Also, how much of the Bears' success was because they've beaten one team higher than 23rd in total offense? The Bears D is one of the tops out there, no question, but they've been feasting on bottom feeders:

Losses:

Cincinatti (3rd in O)

Redskins (14)

Browns (21)

Wins:

New Orleans (17)

Tampa Bay (23)

Carolina (24)

Minnesota (25)

Baltimore (26)

Detroit (27)

San Francisco (32)

If you would have said that 2 weeks ago I would have agreed with you but beating Carolina and Tampa in consecutive weeks makes a strong statement in their favor.

Carolina and TB are surely not offensive juggernauts.

No but they are both viewed as contenders in the NFC and have great records.

Neither team is really setting the world on fire right now. Tampa Bay, coming off wins over Washington and a manicdepressive Atlanta team had just weeks earlier lost to the Niners and were crushed by Carolina.

Carolina could be undefeated right now, but their underachieving O was roughed up by the Bears. They just decide to suck some weeks (NO, Miami), I guess.

Heh. Strength of Schedule: (Before this week)

Chicago (28)

Carolina (29)

Tampa Bay (30)

Indianapolis (31)

Seattle (32)

Glad to see I'm not the only one thinking that Seattle's not as good as advertised. Indy has the 4th hardest schedule til the end, so they can prove themselves.

Good post.

Good post.

Packers (20)

Steelers (22) (But how have they fallen sans Roethlisberger?)

Vikings (25)

Falcons (10)

The remaining schedule shapes up nicely for the Bears as the D should have opportunities galore. From this point out, anything short of 11-5 should be viewed as a disappointment.

Surely not juggernauts, but these two teams can definitely score some points.

These are point totals from their last 6 weeks

Team 12 11 10 9 8 6

TB 10 30 36 14 10 27 21.6 average

Car 13 3 30 34 38 21 27.5 average

Take out the stinkers against the bears, and these teams are scoring some points.

I still believe that the Bears should play Grossman if they are serious about succeeding into the postseason.

This is from a team that was supposed to stink up the joint this season. I think Im just gonna enjoy the ride and see where it goes.

That'll be my approach as well. This year is just gravy.

Nothing the Bears can do will ever ever ever convince you they are good so what's your point?

Their are some serious Bear homers on this message board but some of you non-bear fans totally under-estimate them too...... They arent amazing but right now they are the 2nd best team in the NFC and have just beaten 2 of the better teams in the conference in back to back weeks.

Saw this on another messageboard, thought it was pretty interesting

I disagree. If they can keep it up they have a legit shot at getting a bye in the 1st round and playing a home game for round 2. Can you imagine Tampa or Carolina coming to Chicago in January?!

Can you say PWNED?

Had a fun time at the game. Nice stadium, and real die hard, respectful, fans.

During the time of the fruity buccaneer helmets, they were definately dying hard.
