February 3, 200620 yr QUOTE(Kalapse @ Feb 3, 2006 -> 02:54 PM) Salute Your Shorts The one thing I learned from that show. A giraffe's tongue is black.
February 3, 200620 yr I loved watching Danger Mouse. Belle and Sebastian - I think this was my first introduction into anime Heathcliff - I always thought it was a rip-off version of Garfield. Today's Special - I was really young when I watched this. I remember this and Sesame Street being on around the same time of the day.
February 3, 200620 yr QUOTE(SnB @ Feb 3, 2006 -> 03:02 PM) No one mentioned "are you afraid of the dark?" yet? for shame. i was thinking the same thing! wow, this really brings back old memories.
February 3, 200620 yr Salute Your Shorts Are You Afraid of the Dark? (Sometimes I get creeped out thinking of some of those episodes) Hey Dude Alex Mack Doug Legends of the Hidden Temple Double Dare Rocko's Modern Life (that was a little later than things like Salute Your Shorts, though) Edited February 3, 200620 yr by farmteam
February 3, 200620 yr What's wrong, didn't anyone like the Adventures of Pete and Pete? I eventually grew to it. My list of older ones would be: Wild and Crazy Kids Legends of the Hidden Temple Guts Hey Dude Salute Your Shorts Alex Mack Pete and Pete Are you afraid of the Dark Kenen and Kel Doug Hey Arnold I'm sure there are more, but that's all I can remember as of now. February 3, 200620 yr I'm pretty sure someone here is related to Marc Summers. This stuff is awesome.
February 3, 200620 yr Ah, I forgot Wild and Crazy Kids and Hey Arnold, though I wouldn't classify Hey Arnold as old.
February 3, 200620 yr Totally forgot about rocko's modern life. That was an awesome show. Honestly, nick should have a line of DVD's out for our generation, they're sitting on a gold mine.

I also don't think it's old yet, but it's not around anymore, so that's why I put it in. Come to think about it, it's probably been almost 10 years since they started though.

There is a clammering, Nickelodeon must act.
February 3, 200620 yr I thought I saw a Rocko DVD out there. Great Space Coaster was not PBS but there was some bleed over with Electric Company/Zoom and 3-2-1 Contact. I'm pretty sure Great Space Coaster was on Channel 32 when I was little. But I barely remember that. I remember Today's Special and loved You Can't Do That on Television. Anyone else remember Livewire?
February 3, 200620 yr Author Damn, this thread turned out better than I thought it would! I think they have a channel that shows a lot of these shows, it's called GAS or something, but I don't get it. Great memories though!! I forgot a couple of these shows, and they were all awesome. And I completely forgot Christine Taylor was in "Hey Dude", good stuff. EDIT: http://www.retrojunk.com Good site.... Edited February 3, 200620 yr by whitesoxfan101
February 4, 200620 yr QUOTE(RibbieRubarb @ Feb 3, 2006 -> 02:42 PM) You Can't do that on Television!...of course. The Tomorrow People...British Sci-Fi import The Third Eye...anthology series about the supernatural Here's a site dedicated to Classic Nick shows: http://www.johnnorrisbrown.com/classic-nick/shows.htm Oh my god! I didn't think anybody would remember the Third Eye!!!! That was so strange.....
February 4, 200620 yr Double Dare was great, although I thought it was ironic considering Marc Summers had OCD.
February 4, 200620 yr Nobody named my favorites... What Would You Do? with Mr. Marc Summers Figure It Out with Summer Sanders And yeah, I'm man enough to admit that I would watch nick jr. too. Edited February 4, 200620 yr by SleepyWhiteSox

February 4, 200620 yr QUOTE(Heads22 @ Feb 3, 2006 -> 04:21 PM) I'm pretty sure someone here is related to Marc Summers. I'm pretty sure I'm not. My dad was adopted when he was about nine and his last name was changed. My last name should have been Kent. As a result I ended up with an "extra" set of grandparents. Actually 2 extra sets as both my paternal grandfathers divorced and remarried. Then it just gets more confusing after that... Edited February 4, 200620 yr by Iwritecode
February 4, 200620 yr Author I think "Dina" from Salute Your Shorts was my first crush (her in a bikini was money). I wonder what happened to her, and wonder if she still uses the "keep your hands in the northern hemisphere" line.
February 4, 200620 yr Im surprised that "You cant do that on television" isnt on more lists here. Double Dare wouldnt have their slime if YCDTOT didnt make slime cool. I always loved the skits that took place in the diner, with all of the bad food.
