June 7, 200619 yr QUOTE(Sox1422 @ Jun 7, 2006 -> 01:43 PM) Sean Tracey was the call up according to the Score. This should be incredibly interesting if true.
June 7, 200619 yr I gotta say I am glad to see Tracey get the call up, but I worry about his comfort level out of the pen, especially as rarely as he will be used(hopefully)
June 7, 200619 yr The big key for Sean is to throw strikes. If he does that his stuff should keep him here.
June 7, 200619 yr QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Jun 7, 2006 -> 06:45 PM) I gotta say I am glad to see Tracey get the call up, but I worry about his comfort level out of the pen, especially as rarely as he will be used(hopefully) Hopefully the Sox can pound Verlander tonight to give Tracey an inning or 2 to see what it is like.
June 7, 200619 yr QUOTE(POPPY_HIDALGO @ Jun 7, 2006 -> 12:34 PM) My thoughts are with Politte and his family as they try their best to deal with this problem. I hope all goes well and he can begin living a normal healthy life soon. Laying it on a little thick, no? Perhaps a Cliff Politte fund should be started in his memory in order to help other aging relievers who suddenly and inexplicably lose their stuff?
June 7, 200619 yr Sean Tracey still has a 95 mph fastball and he's not afraid to pitch inside, right Jas?
June 7, 200619 yr QUOTE(WilliamTell @ Jun 7, 2006 -> 07:13 PM) This isn't good at all. Yikes. why.... why is it so bad to put someone on the dl who has given up something like 12 runs in his last 8IP
June 7, 200619 yr QUOTE(Heads22 @ Jun 7, 2006 -> 02:17 PM) Sean Tracey still has a 95 mph fastball and he's not afraid to pitch inside, right Jas? We play outdoors, silly.
June 7, 200619 yr QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Jun 7, 2006 -> 01:47 PM) The big key for Sean is to throw strikes. If he does that his stuff should keep him here. Cliche. Oh, and while we're at it, lets see if this guys ERA balloons a bit more than Montero. Why not call the rest of these quote end quote prospects up...
June 7, 200619 yr QUOTE(Beastly @ Jun 7, 2006 -> 02:21 PM) Cliche. Oh, and while we're at it, lets see if this guys ERA balloons a bit more than Montero. Why not call the rest of these quote end quote prospects up... Keep it down. We might wake up Flash.
Montero was never called a prospect by the Sox. He's 28 and had previous ML experience.
June 7, 200619 yr QUOTE(Gene Honda Civic @ Jun 7, 2006 -> 02:19 PM) We play outdoors, silly. Nyuk, Nyuk, Nyuk!
June 7, 200619 yr Please Ozzie...don't get Tracey work at the expense of McCarthy. Hopefully the DL stint helps Clifford. Maybe get a few MPH back with some rest.
June 7, 200619 yr QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Jun 7, 2006 -> 02:26 PM) Maybe get a few MPH back And some balls.
June 7, 200619 yr QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Jun 7, 2006 -> 02:26 PM) Please Ozzie...don't get Tracey work at the expense of McCarthy. Hopefully the DL stint helps Clifford. Maybe get a few MPH back with some rest. Well, Ozzie did state yesterday that Brandon is his new right handed setup man and I doubt Tracey gets any time in any close and late situations.
June 7, 200619 yr QUOTE(POPPY_HIDALGO @ Jun 7, 2006 -> 01:00 PM) A man is injured here. I understand that fun is fun and baseball is all about fun and winning is fun, but let's not forget the big picture here. No doubt he was the s*** last year. But do you think KW sits up top and thinks about what people did in the past?
June 7, 200619 yr QUOTE(Kalapse @ Jun 7, 2006 -> 12:27 PM) Well, Ozzie did state yesterday that Brandon is his new right handed setup man and I doubt Tracey gets any time in any close and late situations. I'm not as much concerned about Close and Late as I am about Brandon getting enough work overall. We get 3 laughers in a row, suddenly Montero and Tracey get all the work, BMac comes out rusty in the 1 run game when we really need him.
June 7, 200619 yr Tracey can't be worse than Politte, there is no way. So in that sense, not bad news and let's hope Tracey does well and isn't put into tough spots.
