Anyone here Erykah Badu fans? Seen her new video Window Seat where she gets butt ass naked in Dealey Plaza?

Dealey as in Dallas, or Daley as in Chicago?

Dallas.

I got the Neon Trees album, decent. Animal and Sins of Youth are the singles and rightfully so

anybody like or heard of Matthew Good? I just discovered his stuff because of a "genius" recommendation on itunes, and i think i found a new favorite.

Some of the 8-bit classic rock covers out there are unbelievable. The 8-bit medley of Jethro Tull's Aqualung and Zappa's Peaches & Regalia is truly amazing.

I'm not sure if I wasn't quite genius enough or quite dork enough to have come up with these.

ETA: Listening through the whole 8-bit DSOTM album, I have to give major props to the fact that the coin sounds in the Money intro are totally lifted from the N64 Mario coin collection sound. :headbang

The same guy who did that medley also did all of JT's Thick As a Brick, as well as the Beatles' Revolver, which is quite fun.

So I've been using Pandora at work, and the Bright Eyes station I set up keeps kicking out The Decemberists, and I'm quite enjoying the songs that have come up.

For any fans (I thought I'd seen this band mentioned before in this thread) Where should I start? Best Albums? Worst?

Hazards of Love was album of the year for a lot of critics.

PiL coming to town on May 1st & 2nd.

I really want to see them again, but I don't know if it's going to work out.

There is about 3 decent songs on the Broken Bells Danger Mouse and James Mercer (the Shins) collaboration.

Lollapalooza lineup isn't all that impressive. For what they're charging I'd expect something better than Green Day and Lady Gaga as headliners.

Yeah, I feel last year's was better. Still sad I missed Manchester Orchestra, Cage the Elephant, and Gaslight Anthem, not to mention the headliners and whatnot.

Company of thieves is playing lolla, they are a great local band you all should checkout

s***, I might fly back for Lolla the lineup is so good. Gaga's playing here, but with Green Day and all the others.... it's hard to pass up.

Against Me!'s "White Crosses" is gonna be REALLY hard to top for album of the year. The bar has been set high. Currently in silver, Yeasayer "Odd Blood"

Two words: Arcade Fire. Very excited about them being there.

Top 2 headliners aren't all that impressive (Soundgarden, Green Day), Gaga is at least intriguing. Arcade Fire and The Strokes are real nice though. I love Phoenix as well, but I've seen them already so barring how they match up, I could skip them.

I do agree with the sentiment that the last few years have been better. 2008 was amazing in my opinion - Radiohead, RATM, Kanye, NIN, Wilco for headliners with The Raconteurs in the 6th slot. 2009 had a great middle tier. This one is kind of all over the place, but it's generally a down year for festivals. Still think it'll be worth it though - it's a great weekend.

they really gave up on rap this year, which is odd.

Another reason I lost interest.

Social Distortion, The Strokes, Arcade Fire, Devo, Gogol Bordello, Cymbals Eat Guitars, Erykah Badu... not all bad. The top 3 headliners are all very skippable though.

I'll go on the Arcade Fire night for sure and pray Social D and Devo get on the same day.

Indeed. The hottest hip hop act around!

That & this lineup isn't worth $200 IMO. I'll just go to SoundSet & Rock The Bells for my hip-hop fix.

I would like to see Social D, but not much more than that. Maybe Soundgarden and Green Day, but they're not a big deal for me.
