The new Tokyo Police Club is solid ( although I feel a little to old to be enjoying them). Minus the Bear with yet another dissapointing album which makes two in a row.

I keep listening to this.

Halfway through 2010....

1.) Against Me! – White Crosses

2.) Dr. Dog – Shame, Shame

3.) The Gaslight Anthem – American Slang

4.) Yeasayer – Odd Blood

5.) Motion City Soundtrack – My Dinosaur Life

6.) Spoon – Transference

7.) Sleigh Bells – Treats

8.) Angels & Airwaves – LOVE

9.) Jakob Dylan – Women & Country

10.) Vampire Weekend – Contra

5, 6, and 7 are kind of interchangeable....

feel pretty comfortable saying nothing will top treats for me.

The Roots - How I Got Over = Amazing.

That's great.

I went to see Kansas, Foreigner and Styx at Mohegan Sun, Friday night. Great show. Decent opening act by Kansas, great set by Foreigner and Styx blew the doors off the place.

They're playing a show at Schubas next week. They would be fun to see there.

my co-worker is in this band.

God damn, do the Goo Goo Dolls suck balls.

I keep thinking they can't get worse and they just keep getting worse.

Boring, by-the-numbers "adult rock" at its worst.

Off to the Thievery Corporation show. Scored some free tickets.

Steel Panther kicks all varieties of ass.

They begin the ass-kicking process the moment they step onstage, they continue kicking non-stop throughout their set, and they do not leave the stage until every ass has been sufficiently kicked. And make no mistake about it - no ass goes unkicked.

Do not f*** with Steel Panther - Steel Panther will do the f***ing around here, thank you very much.

Oh, yeah, I almost forgot:

Well, the Billy Corgans are coming to Knoxville later this month and I grabbed myself a ticket.

Does anyone else here enjoy They Might Be Giants at all?

If anyone grabbed those free tickets i put on here for last night's matt and kim show I know you enjoyed yourselves. Free beer, free food, awesome venue. Last night was f***ing great.

Yes.

Watching live Twitter feeds totally made watching the BET awards worth it

I liked them a lot when it was just John and John with a boombox/drum machine, but I lost interest when they went to a full band.

Don't Let's Start and Ana Ng are classic tunes. Love them.

I enjoy some TMBG every once in a while. I still remember my first introduction to them in the Tiny Toons music videos for particle man and Istanbul (Not Constantinople).

Very much so. I loved the early days of just the Johns of course, but I like a majority of the later stuff as well. And the kids stuff like "No" is a lot of fun and came out at the right age to allow me and my kids to have a favorite band in common.

I haven't listened to it too much yet, but so far I'm not too happy with the new Gaslight Anthem record. It's bad, per se, but seems sort of bland and just sort of standard stuff after their first two. This is especially so after The '59 Sound, which was just phenomenal all around.
