Aardsma and Sisco are up.

I assume the plan is to get Garland through an out or two in the 6th, play situational matchups with Aards/Sisco to close out the inning, then finish with our Mac/Thorton/Jenks trio.

Please don't assume that Ozzie will follow logic. It's a gut thing man. Logic is for idiots!

Pods seems to have lost a lot of physical attributes from a few years ago. Mainly, any power he had, and a lot of his speed. Put him with the thousands of other players who have seen suspicious dropoffs since steroid testing went into play.

Ok, now come on, that one is just unfair. I don't call a dropoff in speed suspicious when you have injuries that result in 2 groin and back surgeries in less than 2 years. And he was really really good in the first half of 05, over 20 steals in a row going into the AS break.

Or he was never really that good in the first place, had a real lucky (fluke) year, and has been (more or less) living off of it for his career...

Nah, he actually was pretty quick a few injuries and operations ago...

Yes, and use an absurdly long bat with lots of back torque while you are at it.

I just love Jeff Francouer he's either going to be a hall of famer or out of baseball in 5 years.

Sisco in.

Garland 5.1 IP, 7H, 5R (all earned), 4 walks, 5 Ks, 8.44 ERA.

Leaves with the lead.

So some things haven't changed, Garland gives up 5 runs and is still in position for the Win.
