White Sox vs. Royals, 5/13/07 (L)

Featured Replies

Sweeney chased ball four, and then weakly popped out. He looks pretty s***ty against LHP. Iguchi is such a rally killer though....I honestly would love to see Andy Gonzalez play a game or two.

I don't think Iguchi is worth the $5mil he will ask for after the season.

I don't know I think actually by the time he picks it up, and I have no doubt he'll get to near his career numbers by the end of the season, he'll be very affordable, and really I'm not sure if we'll have many better options.

First, he'll ask for more. Second, I want nothing to do with him. His overall skills have diminished a ton. It looks like he needs a cut-off man on his double play throws.

At this point with his subpar defense and non-existent offense, he is not worth very much.

But LOOK at his splits in Charlotte...

I'm sure our lineup wouldn't look any better if we could play Iguchi at 2nd today, and DH Perez.

I really wish Ozuna was at 2B and Toby Hall was DHing instead of homering for Charlotte.

Ozuna and his .241 OBP entering today? That Pablo?

Ozuna is useless against righties and would be exposed as an everyday player. He'd improve the team on defense, but he's still useless at the plate.

I'd rather take my chances with Jorge Cantu, and that's saying a lot (mostly about Tad).

Minor league stats don't mean s***....I've heard horror stories about the caliber of talent in the IL this year.

when you look at the league stats and see we rank last in average, on base percentage, runs, doubles, triples, total bases, slugging percentage and other categories, our won-loss record is a freaking miracle.

Gooch has a .386 OBP batting second this year. He can't hit at all in any other spot in the lineup apparently.

I really can't figure out how the offense has taken such a dive between this year and last.

Well, not a promising start to this inning.

wtf, juanny

It happened during the entire 2nd half of last season. We're relying on a bunch of older players to match their totals from the previous years. From the sound of it, I'll be surprised if Thome is 100 pct the rest of this season for an extended period.

Tadahito may well be pricing himself right back into something the White Sox could afford.

go get chris burke to play second.

he's available and probably wouldn't take much to get him.

He will ask for more, and somebody might just be dumb enough to pay him while we bring back Tony Graffanino at a bargain basement rate.

Javy continues to leave everything up, and the Royals are about to get the lead back. One of my biggest pet peeves during the Ozzie era is how flat we seem to come out the next game after a dramatic win the night before.

Has Hawk blamed the umpire yet? Singleton thought Pena Jr. was out at first.

We need to go in a new direction....especially with someone who's not a joke vs LHP.

QUOTE(South Side Fireworks Man @ May 13, 2007 -> 01:29 PM)
Javy did that on purpose.

Totally... saw it coming, myself.

tony pena doing his all-out best to help us this series.
