He has a 2.29 ERA since the Cleveland game...so obviously he's done "okay" without throwing 97.

The gun seems to be 2-3 MPH slow...Contreras has been 92-94 when he's tried to throw a "straight" fastball.

Garland's velocity is down, half of the bullpen, Vazquez.

True and for many many hitters in baseball and its not because they lack strength. Sweeney has the long swing that many of our minor leaguers do.If or when he's learns to become a major league hitter he will be fine.

Biggest difference with Dye from last year to this year is last year, he tried to drive the ball wherever it was pitched. This year, he's a dead-pull hitter.
