June 2, 200718 yr Assuming we still draft a big man and make an effort to resign PJ or use the MLE on someone...why the Hell not, we have a 15 man roster to fill.
June 2, 200718 yr f***in' Marcus Fizer. If it weren't for Fizer and--it pains me to even remember the name--Tim Floyd, we could have Elton Brand. I'll never forgive Jerry Krause for what he did to the team post-Jordan. Seriously, has there ever been a worse display of player management than that? Edited June 2, 200718 yr by BobDylan
June 2, 200718 yr QUOTE(Brian @ Jun 2, 2007 -> 04:35 PM) I'm ashamed to admit that I liked the drafting of Fizer at the time. I did too. But, what was not to like at the time? I know we already had a PF, but I really think he was the best available player (at the time) and he really dominated the college game. He looked to be a good one in an incredibly weak draft.q
June 2, 200718 yr The one thing about Fizer was he could always score and with ease. The problem was he was poor defensively and a bit undersized and the squad had Elton Brand. Overall it was just a bad situation. However, if he's healthy I know he can score when on so I wouldn't have a problem (I also remember him being a bit of a black hole once he got the ball).
June 2, 200718 yr We were the wrong situation for him when we drafted him. Fizer should've been what Carlos Boozer is now.
June 3, 200718 yr id definitely give him a roster spot over malik allen or michael sweetney lets see what he has. Its not like he would be expected to contribute much anyways maybe 5 minutes a game unless he really shows off something.
June 3, 200718 yr at least give him a shot to make the team. See what he has against some of our current guys.
June 3, 200718 yr Did someone just compare Marcus Fizer to Carlos Boozer? It never takes long for the no-merit stuff to come out. IF we sign Fizer, everyone prepare to be disappointed... again.

However, if he's healthy I know he can score when on so I wouldn't have a problem (I also remember him being a bit of a black hole once he got the ball). He was stronger than a lot of guys in college, and he was more nimble than the guys bigger than him. He had to expand his game in the NBA, whereas he didn't have to pop out much at ISU. I also really believe he thought the pro game would be easier than it was.
June 4, 200718 yr If we are talking about a guy who is going to be somewhere between 11th and 15th on this roster, I don't much care who we sign. At least Fizer does bring some frontline scoring ability, which would be a nice change.
June 6, 200718 yr QUOTE(Brian @ Jun 2, 2007 -> 11:35 AM) I'm ashamed to admit that I liked the drafting of Fizer at the time. Yeah, positionally it wasn't great, but he appeared to be the best player available. Also, he lived next door to one of my friends. Maybe, he'll move back in.
