How old is he?

He is 15, all teenager. The situation I described above actually happened last year. And I agree with Lostfan, the kids have no privacy in these situations. I expect them to try and get away with stuff, and until pushed, I let some of it go. I saw the porn on his computer, and it was pretty soft core stuff, and only a few pics, so I didn't say anything, until he messed up to the point where I had to put him in his place. When I was a kid, it would have been a belt, not stuff taken away.

That makes sense to take it away from him when he's pushing boundaries. I was just thinking how old he is, and since he's 15, it's only natural for a kid to be looking up porn.

If the girl is 11, she should be thankful her parents even let her have a myspace, so her privacy rights are gone. I would agree that the 15 year old loses his right to privacy too, but a few softcore porn pics for a 15 year old is pretty damn normal. Obviously you have to punish him to a degree and try and teach him the right things, but it's not something I would worry about if I were Alpha Dog.

Have you ever been so tired that your motor skills begin to fail? It feels kinda like being drunk.

Yes. I've also been so tired that I've hallucinated and thought I was hearing things, like the door bell ringing and my dog barking. This was during a time where I had back to back projects to finish for school and was probably up for about two days, with MAYBE 15 minutes of sleep on the train.

Lol I really hope when Im a parent I dont have to resort to such spy tactics, especially reading an aim conversation between bf/gf. Id make sure, especially if it was a daughter that she wouldnt be talking to any creepers but id try to stay out of the bf/gf stuff and whatnot. Unless i was suspecting foul play lol :lolhitting

The porn isn't what he was punished for, I just let him know that I knew about it when other issues came up. The kids all talk a different kind of stupid on Myspace. They can't spell, they swear more than me and they all try to act like baddasses and say how much they drink, how much drugs they do, etc. I saw some of the posts from my son and a few of his friends, and that was it. The lying about the site and the language and words on the site was enough, and then I showed him the porn I found as well letting him know that he can't get away with anythng. Yeah, interest porn for a 15 year old boy is normal, and it was pretty tame (especially considering what is oout there), just some posing, not something wierd like Japanese Bukkake or scat videos. Those would have had to result in a different talk.

We're about to have our first child, and the idea of my young kid on the internet scares the bejeebus out of me. I will have zero hesitation to monitor any use of the computer and internet by her. There is just too much risk out there.

Yes, when the Mrs. and I decide to have our first, and our first gets a little older, I'll monitor the hell out of his/her Internet usage.

Wow, crazy.

Yeah, after three 16 hour days, the last thing I should have been doing was looking at an Excel spreadsheet for two more hours. I was having a hard time driving home and was bumping into everything when I finally made it.

Got a solid 7 hours of sleep, I'm feelin' 10 feet tall and bullet proof.

I took a stupid bet once in college - that I could stay awake for 72 hours.

I made it to 60.

At about 52, the wall turned into a bat and came after me.

5,000! ^_^

Congrats! Kenny better make some more moves so I can get to 2,000 soon.

I've done that. But, I did make it to 72 hours. And yes, you see some ridiculous s*** like a bat coming after you. I saw spiders on the floor that weren't really there and fell asleep mid-way walking up a staircase (but people were with me, so woke me up immediately). My favorite thing I saw was the chips and salsa across the room - I went running over to them b/c I was hungry only to find nothing there.

It was a trippy experience to say the least.

Whenever I get that tired, my attention span goes away, my vision becomes blurry, and I get hungry. I have never done drugs, but I've told people before that I feel like I have when I get really tired.

So I guess there was a little problem with the site there?

I hope it was worth it.

Anyone listen to the Soxcast podcast? The guy who runs it George Heidkamp is stepping down, and taking submissions for replacements. So, if anyone’s interested in applying you can go to the inbox at Soxcast.com. I’ve only been listening to it for a couple months, and while it did offer some entertainment I thought it’d be better with a co-host so he could get a decent rapport going. Still I’ll miss it as it's the only decent Sox podcast going at the moment.

I wasn't home but it looks like the host company had an issue. I know at some point they are relocating but I thought it was next month. I'll have to check more.

Thanks for the heads up.

The people at the mall that sell those lotions on the carts annoy the hell out of me.Even when I walk past them on the fourth time they still ask me would I like to try some out. I say NO and then they use that f***ing line "Can I ask you a question?",which gets most people to stop because they say it in a way that in the back of your mind your thinking the question has nothing to do with the product.

I also HATE the employee's in the stores that just wont let you look around. They follow your every move and every thing you look at they tell you about it and why its sooooooo f***ing great. When I told you I was just browsing that was your first hint to leave me the f*** alone!
