They also play some team in first place, I forget who though

Kryptonite.....American League

Eckstein boots a routine grounder, and ends up leading to 4 runs for the Cubs against Halladay. I don't understand how official scorers don't give errors on routine plays anymore.

Edit: Changed to an error

looks like i jinxed LAA and CLE as they both gave up the lead....oh well, id rather have CLe lose anyways

The Indians won last night 9-5.

AL was 9-5 on friday night, and 8-5 last night....on the season that puts the AL 39-29...

It might be time for me to concede that the Cubs are a really good team.

AL leads 47-36

I'm calling a 3 hit CG SO for Kazmir tonight.

Let's go Rays!! :headbang

What is with that Gay glove dance Dempster does from the windup, its girls-softball like. And since when does he throw 95?

Dempster's batting average against is ridiculous this season. He has been one of the top 10 pitchers in all of baseball this season, and he's shown no signs of slowing down. If anything, his stuff is getting better.

No competition, we're gonna own them. :gosoxretro:

A three and a half hour or so regular season game that was only a 3-2 final? How bizarre, must have been a lot of long at bats, pitching changes, and men left on base I guess. At least the blue b****es lost though, a perfect day in Chicago is always nice, can't get enough Chicago victories.

47-40 after the AL went 0-4 last night....more than made up for it tonight....they may win 12 of 14 tonight....

Dempster was due back on the ground about 2 weeks ago. Every time he kisses mid-high 90's on the gun and shuts a lineup down, I get a teensy bit more suspicious of him.

Just kicking this around, but...

-100 years since the team won, attention team is recieving is at a fever pitch even compared to ridiculous coverage it usually gets.

-You're converted back to a starter from a putz of a closer. Find success/help your team finally get there and you will become a god to millions of Cubs fans.

-Contract situation. Last I heard he was locked up through 2008. This is 2008.

Just Saying

proponent of a sitcom starring juan uribe and ed farmer.

That is up there with a sitcom featuring Moe Sizlak and a video game occupied by Abe Simpson's ghost.

Where was his dominance when he was a closer? Its VERY suspicious. He's gained MPH on his fastball, which has now made his breaking stuff better. He hasnt shown ANY fatigue from increasing his workload. Its very strange.

Although there are about 5 players on that cubs team that are playing extremely over their heads talent wise, and what their historic production has been.

that guy with the gnome is such a dope

Zambrano just left the game with some sort of right shoulder discomfort.

That would be a big loss for them.

Again, I never wish upon injury, but I'd love to see this put him out for 3-4 starts.

L, 5-4. :headbang

Zambrano has a 5.68 ERA with 13 strikeouts, 12 walks, and 33 hits allowed in 25 and 1/3 innings in his 4 starts since Lou kept him out there for 130 pitches against the Dodgers. And now he has shoulder soreness and had to leave prematurely tonight. I don't believe in coincidences, so this could be a problem for them, just as I think Marmol's overuse could be one in due time. Gotta lose the battle to win the war sometimes, Lou.

Those damn Royals beat the Cards, just when it looked like the Cards might gain a game on the Cubs. :chair

Ten more wins for the AL as things stand now.
