For the first time in a while, I'll actually be watching the political coverage on TV this evening.

You and me both.

For the first time in a while, I'll actually be watching the political coverage on TV this evening. I think the two speeches that will be made should be very interesting.

I'll wait until the Daily Show and Colbert Report covert it, and be glad I did, thank you very much good day to you sir!

And turn into Joe Liberman? Not gonna happen. After screwing her party for so long, she has to fall in line or she has no support from the Dems in '12. She knows that. She has already turned into a pariah in her party, if she didn't have the decency to support her parties nominee, she is done.

Yah, I think you're right. Obama controls a massive part of the infrastructure within the party now and Hillary will have to do everything she can to help him win. Probably an easier task for her if she's the VP candidate. Once her candidacy has officially closed she has to endorse him. If there's any sense that she's trying to scuttle Obama's chances in '08 she'll have no chance of getting the nomination later.

And I wouldn't rule out Obama running again in 2012 if he loses in 2008. He's got such a huge infrastructure now, and one in pretty much every state.

But predicting the future is hard. Easier for Obama to just go out and win now.

MSNBC reports Obama is 29 delegates away. Factor in a 55-45 MT split for Obama and a 60-40 SD for Clinton (based on the only recent poll), Obama needs 15 supers this evening.

Jimmy Carter just Endorsed Obama

Hillary has apparently said this afternoon that she would be willing to VP.

hmmm... no.

AP gives it to Obama

The Flood:

It's almost officially over. Almost all the Edwards supporters have switched to Obama. Obama is just 14 away according to MSNBC. He'll net that in MT and SD.

It makes me somewhat happy that enough came through today that it seems the last voters will be the ones who put him officially over the top, instead of a few supers on Wednesday when Pelosi, Dean, Reid, et al. do theirs.

Apparently the 5 supers from MT will come out and endorse the winner of the state when the polls close. So, that will OFFICIALLY put him over the top.

Update: Oops, I had my time table wrong MT closes before SD. So, once SD closes Obama will be over the top.

Update 2: Based on the rate of Superdelegetes POURING into Obama right nw, it's over when MT closes.

I think this is planned to FORCE Clinton to concede this evening. If she talks ay time after MT is over, she will be the looser and if she doesnt say Obama is the winner, she will be ROASTED.

I already thought Carter was on board a while ago, didn't you see Obama's budget and tax plans for his first term.

CNN has it down to 4 delegates to the nomination

This is pretty funny. MSNBC is saying that the Clinton people want Obama to offer her the VP spot. BUT, Obama will only offer it to her if she agrees in advance to decline it. lol

I still laugh at a few months ago when Obama was winning and there was talk about Hillary offering the VP slot to Obama. Hilarity ensued.

MSNBC calls the nomination for Obama

I'd just like to add...on this historic night.

Damn. That took freaking forever.

I told my wife back in December, if Clinton wins Iowa... it's over. She is the nominee. Obama would fight, but it was over. It is like a rolling stone down a hill. HOWEVER, if Obama can win Iowa, he's got a real shot. It's still hard, but the stone doesnt budge off the hill just yet.

Hillary takes the stage... let's see what happens.

Update (Live Blogging/Typing):

  • Clinton thanks Obama and his supporters
  • Says Obama has done great things
  • Thanks all the states and her constituency
  • Says the people have said with their votes that she is the strongest candidate for president
  • Says 18 million people have voted for her, more than any other in history
  • Says hard working people (aka working whites) have supported her
  • Says she has won enough states to win the general election (VP plug?)
  • Seems to still be fighting for the nomination
  • Proud she "stayed the course" (nice Bushism)
  • Every single United States Citizen has voted
  • Committed to uniting the party
  • Talking about the people she has met across the country
  • "None of you are inviable to me" (except those people in caucuses states... which dont count)
  • What Do I Want? I want to end the war. Turn around the economy. Universal Health Care....

God Bless the people of Iowa. My future home state.

No concession, even though it's over.

Stay classy!

To me, sounds like she wants to get some more money from naive donors to help pay off debts. Now that it's over, it's comical to see her become even more pathetic.
