I was meeting a friend at the Westin today, and a bunch of "Red Sox nation" were in the lobby because the team stays there. Francona was sitting on a couch in the lobby and not one of them recognized him. Even Cub fans recognize the manager of their team.

I agree with this...earlier in the year, we would have had Thornton in and Dotel warming up. Now, we have Logan in and Russell warming up. KW has really failed this pitching roster.

If Russell (he of the 6+ ERA) grooves a 95-96 MPH fastball with no movement and Ortiz hits a Grand Slam, everyone's going to say, how could he put in a rookie RH reliever against David Ortiz.

Thornton could have started this inning. He only threw to one batter yesterday after having 2 days off prior to that. See my other post to you though, I get what you're saying.

Meche has been pitching well lately, so hopefully he can beat the Twins. If we're only down a game after the Red Sox series, I'd consider that a moral victory.
