FLOYD!!

oh, and forgot this

we don't want to win. This team is awful. We don't deserve first place

Way to go Thome! Ties Mickey Mantle what a feat

HOORAY!

Iam glad the baseball gods started paying attention and allowed us to get Pedroia out.

That's a relief.

Great job by Floyd today. Didn't have his best stuff, but stayed effective and held down a very potent Boston offense.

Way to avoid the sweep.

also thank you to the umpire today. He was a white sox fan.

Nah, he just called high strikes and the red sox refused to adjust.

and they weren't allowed to make any motion of a swing.

Pretty damn good game all around. Floyd and Danks have been a revelation.

I just got back to a computer since Firday and I wan to reiterate my thoughts that the line-up shifting daily is hurting the offense.

Konerko seems to be getting hot yet he didn't play last night.

I am also tiring on Swisher as he is becomign a guy that gets the bases empty walk but when the pitcher coem safter him he is useless.

Thome also has been hitting since early June.

Griffey and Swisher really are not adding much to this team.

Great to see a winner and avoid the sweep. Hopefully we can carry the momentum to Cleveland tomorrow, as I just picked up a pair of tickets 4 rows behind the White Sox dugout for $90 and me and a buddy are road tripping down. Should be a good time.

So you've managed to determine that it is the shifting of the line-up that is CAUSING the offense to do poorly. It has nothing to do with good pitching, unluck, slumping or randomness. And it wasn't hurting the team when they scored 71 runs in 9 games (almost 8 a game) until these three losses in a row. And though the team has gone 17-11 since acquiring Griffey which has caused the line-up to change more frequently (5.5 runs/game .275 BA and .841 OPS over that stretch), it is the shifting of the line-up that is causing the offense to do poorly.

We needed that win in the worst way. Great job Gavin!!!

Lucky guy! Hope you have fun and see a White Sox winner

I'm also going to the game tomorrow.

so the odds are we lose to cliff lee tomorrow and then will be tied for the division, having gained nothing on the twins going into the last 3 game series in their "monster" road trip.

Just got home from work.

Another huge start from Gavin when we needed it. This was a big win.

Congrats to JT on tying Mantle!

Going to be tough vs Lee tomorrow- let's do it!

Gavin is rapidly becoming our stopper.

I was about to post pretty much the same thing. Every time we have even a small losing streak, he always seems to step up. He's just been terrific.

I am going to say something that may surprise everyone. I think we are going to take it to Lee tomorrow.

But, I guess we can still afford to give games away.

:huh

You're right... it did surprise me. :D

And I hope you're right about the game.

Dare I say, Gavin could make an incredible arguement to be the White Sox MVP right now. It would be a tough choice between him and Carlos... Without either of those guys, this is a third place team... at best.
