Let's not use the umpires though as an excuse. There's no reason the Sox couldn't win this game in 9 innings. Why was Swisher even thinking of swinging at that pitch?

this whole game has been garbage....i've never not wanted to watch the end of a close game more than right now

This would easily be our most painful loss since Carlos Guillen layed down a squeeze in the 2000 postseason. You can blame the damn umpires if you want, but the offense was handed the majority of the 6 runs we scored in the 4th by the Twins and has been silent since. You knew we were going to blow this after we blew chances for more in the 6th and 7th.
