You can't fault the Bills for trying. At the end of the day, it's just not an attractive option. There's not enough talent there to win, but it's too talented to be one of the worst teams in the league and ending up with a top 5 draft pick. Instead, they are consistently stuck with a pick between 7-12 and just haven't gotten any impact player from that position. They don't have a franchise QB, and Brohm might be the only QB with tools capable of starting at some point in the future. The left tackle entering the season was like a 7th round pick from the previous season and was still raw, their OLine is mediocre, their starting running back is closing in on 30 (though he's playing younger than that), their backup running back is a 1st round bust who should get released this offseason because he's not very good and he's an idiot. The best wide receiver on the team likely won't be returning; not because he doesn't want to, but because the front office doesn't want him. The #2 receiver used to be a great deep threat but now he's not any more intimidating than Dennis Northcutt, the TE's are pretty much garbage with Shawn Nelson being the only one with a lick of potential.

The defense had talent, but fired their defensive coordinator from the previous season because he took over as interim coach and the team wanted someone else. He's now in New York.

The special teams was arguably the best special teams returning unit in the entire NFL (though probably behind the Cleveland Cribbs' special teams), but they lost that coach too.

It's a sad situation, and the team needs a great pick, some bold moves, or for Zeus himself to play quarterback.

You forgot that they might relocate...to Canada.

I think that in a few years, once they get the legal aspects worked out, it'll be a race between the Bills and the Jags to sign the contract in L.A.

and once again, why? Hasnt LA demonstrated twice that they dont give a s*** about NFL football?

Were either Al Davis's shenanigoats or the LA Rams a team that you could get excited about?

Really, it's simple numbers. If Angelinos are 50% as likely to be NFL fans as people in Houston, Philly, or Dallas, then LA will still sell more tickets than any of those cities. The LA Basin is 12 million+ people. Even the other big ones, outside of Chicago and NY, are 5-6 million. And a lot of them can afford luxury boxes.

And you're not giving Minny's D any credit. Their front 4 did what they were supposed to do. If you chase any NFL QB around enough, you're gonna cause a turnover.

They do get credit for being as good as they are, but Romo still played bad. Favre was chased around quite a bit, the difference is that he made plays while that happened and Romo just danced around and got sacked.

They simply dont care. LA fans have always carried that label, whether it be the Angels, Dodgers, Lakers or whatever football team they have there.

If they really wanted a team, one would of stayed, or one would have replaced the two departed teams. Dont give me this "what did the Rams or Raiders give them to be excited about?" bull, if they get another team it isnt as if its going to immediately be competitive. Its going to go through the same growing pains teams like the Jaguars and Panthers and Ravens went through, and it will make the fans less interested.

Im not saying it wont happen, but its going to be the same crap that happened twice before.

A member of the TMZ.com patrol of citizen videographers caught up with Hall of Fame running back Eric Dickerson, asking him when Los Angeles will get another NFL team.

“First of all, L.A. don’t deserve a team,” Dickerson said. “They ain’t gonna support it.”

Dickerson then made an analogy.

“L.A. is like a bad kid,” Dickerson said. “[H]is ball is laying over there, he don’t wanna play with the ball. But when ... somebody else picks the ball up, then he wants the ball.”

Dickerson then explained the success of the Lakers thusly: “When the Lakers are winning, it’s crowded. But when the Lakers are losing, you could roll a stick of dynamite in there and blow up nothing but the floor.”

Dickerson played for the Los Angeles Rams, which left for St. Louis after the 1994 season. That same year, the Raiders returned from L.A. to Oakland.

In the 15 years since, there has been no serious effort to fill the void, but for an aborted attempt by the Seahawks to move south in early 1996.

We continue to think the best long-term approach would be to expand the regular season to 17 games, and to send a chunk half of the 16 neutral-site games to Los Angeles. This would allow L.A. fans to follow the NFL without having to support any one team. .

lol@Chargers forums, there is actually a thread discussing if the Chargers threw the game, citing examples as Kaeding missing badly, the personal fouls and drops by Gates in the 4th quarter...someone also posted a link to the 1920 (sic) Black Sox scandal noting that if it happened back then, why shouldn't it happened today.

Links to the Mafia and that the Jets were big underdogs was also discussed

Matt Forte reportedly underwent arthroscopic surgery on his left knee during the past two weeks.

A post-season MRI revealed the need for the procedure. Forte showed toughness in playing through a partially torn hamstring and an early-season MCL sprain, though it's not known if the scope is related to the latter. Forte should be healthy in time for OTAs, and he'll be a fine bounce-back candidate for the 2010 season.

I really don't recall knowing he was playing through a partially torn hamstring. Props to Forte.

Evidently Vincent Jackson was pulled over before the game....and there are reports out here that 8 Chargers were at the strip clubs till the wee hours of the morning before the game. Not a good sign if true.

Not in regards to throwing the game..but rather in being prepared.

So from what I hear, this Rob Chudzinski character would be a good fit for us? He has a fairly impressive resume, including some great TE work at the U, with Gates at SD, and in Cleveland with Winslow. He also was the OC for that Cleveland team that went 10-6 and just missed the playoffs. That offense was the 8th rated offense in both scoring and yardage in the league that year.

Sounds like a good fit to me. Would probably help Olsen and an offense based upon a lot of throws to the TEs.

Does Miguel Cabrera have a place in S.D.?

This might have been in the thread already, but do you guys know if Monte Kiffin followed his son to USC?

I wouldnt think it would be in the best interests of his health to stay :)
