November 19, 200916 yr QUOTE (knightni @ Nov 19, 2009 -> 04:36 PM) I'm going to try and get 2 or 3 done tonight after 11. No you will just lie to us like usual and feel proud of it Jeremy.
November 19, 200916 yr Author QUOTE (SoxAce @ Nov 19, 2009 -> 05:36 PM) No you will just lie to us like usual and feel proud of it Jeremy. Hey, they were after 11 last night... yeah 3am's after 11.
November 19, 200916 yr QUOTE (Cali @ Nov 19, 2009 -> 03:34 PM) Wow, a lot of the older bands I assumed would be in the top 10 are appearing in the higher numbers. Maybe it won't be so generational at the end. Cept the beatles 1 and proably Dylan 2 I don't think Dylan is gonna be that high. There's not much more of a Dylan fan than me and I had him at 4.
November 19, 200916 yr QUOTE (knightni @ Nov 19, 2009 -> 03:21 PM) I'd comment, but I don't want to give too much away. I can't tell if I'm a king pin or a pauper.
November 20, 200916 yr I dont get the Green Day hate. They were the first band I ever got in to. Yeah they stumbled a bit to try and find a way to top Dookie, but that led them to completely re-invent themselves 10 years later and release one of the best albums of the decade and one of the most important albums to me personally in American Idiot. They are also such an amazing live band, so f***ing tight musically. People fear change and experimentation from your favorite band is like a curse word, but I love it, and I will follow most bands no matter what the sound is.
November 20, 200916 yr QUOTE (MexSoxFan#1 @ Nov 19, 2009 -> 02:06 PM) Don't worry Soxy,RHCP were high up in my list. I know age plays a major factor in musical taste but you just gotta have bands like Pink Floyd,Led Zeppelin,AC/DC in you top 20 no matter what age you are,don't ya? I just hope the Jonas Brothers aren't on the list. No.

I think I left Dylan off my list. I was in a very pop sort of mind when I did my list. Without looking, I did a second list today and and 8 bands changed. lol

Dookie was an absolutely amazing album, whether you like the band or not. And they did stumble a bit for a while, but I think they have legitimized themselves by reinventing themselves so successfully. Honestly, for a 3 man punk band, if they weren't pretty damn brilliant, would they still be relevant? I don't think so...

For what it's worth, it was worth all the time.

November 20, 200916 yr QUOTE (knightni @ Nov 20, 2009 -> 02:08 PM) Tex never claimed to be an American idiot, or to know who is enemy is. #25 is almost done. We all know he's full of Dookie that goes Kerplunk in the night and keeps you up if you are an Insomniac.
November 20, 200916 yr Author Whew, those two listings were pretty substantial. I'll have to do more tonight.
November 20, 200916 yr Wait, didn't you say the Beastie Boys weren't eligible? Not that I really care, I like them but they still wouldn't have made my list. I'm just curious
November 20, 200916 yr Author No, I said that if I got enough lists with them on it, that I would allow them. http://www.soxtalk.com/forums/index.php?s=...t&p=2038527
