If that actually happened...I believe it's technically against the union rules.

I think it's against the rules for an organization to bypass a player's agent and approach the player directly. However, I believe a player can bypass his own agent and contact a team directly if he wishes.

Exactly. Players can do what they want.

ARod bypassed Boras in his last contract extension.

And I'm pretty sure union rules didn't allow it.

Sorry if this has already been posted...not sure...but I guess several of our guys were wearing those bandaids today? My brother told me about it but I admittedly haven't looked elsewhere for this...

Yeah Fox showed Kotsay, Floyd & Buehrle wearing them from what I remember.

Yeah, I didn't get to watch the game as I was stuck with the stupid Angels/Yankees game on Fox and it was therefore not on my Extra Innings package.

I see now it was mentioned in the game thread. Sorry for the redundancy...

Mocking Andruw? Fans of Nelly?

Wow, Jeremy...I don't know if you finished reading that article you posted, but at the very bottom it said Andruw Jones has already negotiated a deal without Boras - the one he negotiated with the Braves in 2002...

That doesnt make any sense, a player can do whatever he wants... doesnt even need to have an agent.

Frank Thomas did it with us too. He went straight to Jerry for his last contract.

Is Jones' bandaid a nicotine patch or did he hurt himself?

looks like a nicotine patch or something

People don't usually put nicotine patches on their necks...and I don't think there would be other players wearing them for fun...

My first thought was that it was a motion sickness patch. Of course, why would he wear one while walking around? Maybe he knew he'd be making many rounds of the base pads?

:lolhitting: "Hey, Andruw hit two homers with a nicotine patch on his neck, lets put nicotine patches on our necks! C'mon, it'll be fun!" :lolhitting:

I'm thinking of going to Walgreen's for some small round bandaids to put on my neck for the next couple White Sox games this week. :P

Anyone else see poor Omar Visquel get completly ignored on a high-five attempt as Jones crosses home plate after his walk-off? http://mlb.mlb.com/video/play.jsp?content_id=7620537

probably cause he refuses to wear a good luck nicotine patch. not a team player

Actually Vizquel DOES wear it.

Jones, Vizquel, and Kotsay are the 3 I have noticed wearing them.

Add Buehrle and Floyd on that list.

Paulie put his band aid right on his bat.

...but what is the point of the band-aids?

Omar was too lame for Andruw to high five him.

I think Andruw was afraid he'd somehow break Omar's hip
