June 23, 201015 yr QUOTE (WHarris1 @ Jun 23, 2010 -> 11:38 AM) Michael Bradley is f***ing fantastic, this man needs some serious love. He's gonna draw some serious interest over in Europe from a lot of clubs. He's been playing in the Bundesliga for the last two seasons and received fairly regular playing time this year. And he's 22. He's already been on Europe's radar.
June 23, 201015 yr QUOTE (danman31 @ Jun 23, 2010 -> 03:56 PM) He's been playing in the Bundesliga for the last two seasons and received fairly regular playing time this year. And he's 22. He's already been on Europe's radar. Obviously I am aware of the fact that Bradley has been playing in Germany, thank you though. The point is hes going to be getting looks from EPL teams, teams far better than Borussia. Wenger has said how big of a fan of Bradley's he is when asked if he would possibly be making a play for him. Sorry for the vaguely worded joy and drunken induced initial post. June 23, 201015 yr QUOTE (RockRaines @ Jun 23, 2010 -> 04:49 PM) Ghana is better than the US, luckily not Germany-better. It was the best case scenario. I dont think Ghana is better than the US. They may win but this game is a coin flip.
June 23, 201015 yr QUOTE (RockRaines @ Jun 23, 2010 -> 01:49 PM) Ghana is better than the US, luckily not Germany-better. It was the best case scenario. With Essian I think they are. Without Essian I think we are better. Personally, with Essian Ghana is also better than Germany. I think Ghana matches up extremely well with the US though, but pound for pound I dont' think they are better.
June 23, 201015 yr QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Jun 23, 2010 -> 04:13 PM) With Essian I think they are. Without Essian I think we are better. Personally, with Essian Ghana is also better than Germany. I think Ghana matches up extremely well with the US though, but pound for pound I dont' think they are better. I still think their speed up front matches up badly for the US. This should be a 50/50 based on Essian being out, but I feel like Ghana with the home field gets the nod.
June 23, 201015 yr Ghana weren't impressive when they played Aussie at all. I think US should take that game, but they need to play better than they did against Algeria obviously.
June 24, 201015 yr QUOTE (DBAHO @ Jun 23, 2010 -> 03:46 PM) Ghana weren't impressive when they played Aussie at all. I think US should take that game, but they need to play better than they did against Algeria obviously. We played very very well against the Algerians. Best game of the cup so far. They'll need to finish better, but as a whole, I was quite happy with the performance of the team in today's game.
June 24, 201015 yr I think the US should be the favorite against Ghana (I assume that England has betting lines on the game and checking on them it does appear that the US is a slight favorite by almost all betting sites). Whether or not they win, who knows. But without Essein the US is probably the stronger team.
June 24, 201015 yr The more I see the goal, the more I am amazed by Tim Howard's distribution to Donovan. He hit Donovan in stride at midfield. Sensational. Once that pass is made it's a 4 on 2 and they should score.
June 24, 201015 yr QUOTE (SuperSteve @ Jun 24, 2010 -> 09:02 AM) Does anyone have a breakdown who qualifies with what results for the games today? Holland is already in, Japan needs a win or tie, Denmark needs a win, Cameroon is out. The games right now are way more complicated. Italy & New Zealand both qualify with wins. Paraguay needs a win or tie, or it needs the other game to end in a tie. Slovakia needs a win and some help. I do know that if both games end up tied with the same score, then Italy & NZ will draw lots for second place.
June 24, 201015 yr QUOTE (DBAHO @ Jun 24, 2010 -> 09:27 AM) Let's all laugh at Italy, let's all laugh at Italy.... Not yet. I've seen them screw around too many times in the group stage and somehow scramble through it last second. They have some major issues right now though. I hope New Zealand finds a way to somehow get a win and advance here, it'd be an amazing story. Edited June 24, 201015 yr by whitesoxfan101
June 24, 201015 yr I must say, the New Zealand/Italy game was the only game besides the US games where I was truely committed to a team (NZ). I'll cheer for teams and if they lose it'll be like "aw shuks" but with NZ I wanted them to win so badly. War The All Whites!!!

June 24, 201015 yr QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Jun 24, 2010 -> 10:33 AM) Now it's time to all laugh at Italy... Haha yep was just coming in here to say that. I'm not sure how shocking this is though, seems like a lot of people thought they'd have issues.
June 24, 201015 yr Italy is getting boned by the refs, too. Not that I care. f*** Italy. Edited June 24, 201015 yr by Felix
June 24, 201015 yr Italy is screwed. Oh how the mighty have fallen. First France, now Italy. And that's game. Slovakia's most likely advancing. Edited June 24, 201015 yr by chw42
