Bartolo Colon got hammered tonight.

More and more pressure building on Cashman to make a pitching move (Jackson, Floyd, Danks, possibly Buehrle).

If were selling, they could seriously use a lefty in the bullpen as well, and we have surplus.

It would be fun to put a gun to their heads for a deal so to speak. My biggest fear is that it seems when the Yankee deal a prospect, they end up flopping.

Their sole lefty is Boone Logan, our old friend, yes?

Correct. Will Ohman would be a solid upgrade for them. Thornton would be mind blowing.

ESPN's choice of wording was interesting.

That first one was impressive as hell

James Shields falling back down to earth against the Red Sox today.

I was at the Cubs game today (free tickets right behind Florida's dugout), and man, Mike Stanton is an impressive young player.

He's gonna hit 50 sometime in the next few years. Guaranteed.

•According to executives polled by Sherman, only the Giants and Tigers could afford to take on all of Carlos Beltran's remaining salary, among potentially interested clubs. If the Mets paid most or all of the cost, teams like the Indians, Diamondbacks, Pirates, Red Sox, Phillies, and Braves would all be in play.

•Beltran is on the Angels' radar as well...

That would give the Indians an outfield of Brantley, Sizemore, Choo and Beltran.

With the Tigers, Boesch, Austin Jackson and Ordonez/Beltran. Beltran could also take AB's away from an ailing Austin Jackson, theoretically, and play CF.

The best part is that Randy Williams got the call up.

It seems like many of the guys who were forbidden to pitch in the ASG were hammered in their first starts back...Verlander/Hamels/Shields...

They all pitched last Sunday, so almost none of them got any extra time off.
