May 28, 201114 yr When it was Milledge v. Lillibridge during spring training and only one of them would break camp with the team, I really wanted it to be Milledge. When Milledge got DFA I thought about Lillibridge and if management possibly overlooked him/forgot that he existed when they made the decision. I'm sorry, I was wrong.
May 28, 201114 yr We were also wrong about Dunn, Rios, Thornton, s***, this whole team for the most part.
May 28, 201114 yr QUOTE (Jordan4life @ May 28, 2011 -> 04:07 PM) We were also wrong about Dunn, Rios, Thornton, s***, this whole team for the most part. Is this real life?
May 28, 201114 yr QUOTE (Jordan4life @ May 28, 2011 -> 05:07 PM) We were also wrong about Dunn, Rios, Thornton, s***, this whole team for the most part. I wasn't wrong about Phil Humber.....but you sure were!
May 28, 201114 yr QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ May 28, 2011 -> 04:36 PM) I wasn't wrong about Phil Humber.....but you sure were! Yeah, our two worst players going in have been two of our best. And this team still blows.
May 28, 201114 yr QUOTE (Jordan4life @ May 28, 2011 -> 05:39 PM) Yeah, our two worst players going in have been two of our best. And this team still blows. Adam Dunn needs to be hitting 9th until he has back-to-back multi-hit games. Can't wait to see the boxscore in Charlotte tonight as Viciedo will go 3/4 with a HR and 2 doubles, leaving me to weep gently in my pillow.

Rios too. Hell, half the team.
May 29, 201114 yr QUOTE (Jordan4life @ May 28, 2011 -> 04:39 PM) Yeah, our two worst players going in have been two of our best. And this team still blows. Nah, Pierre still sucks.
May 29, 201114 yr QUOTE (SoxAce @ May 28, 2011 -> 08:14 PM) Nah, Pierre still sucks. He said going in. Pierre wasn't terrible last year.
May 29, 201114 yr QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ May 29, 2011 -> 11:58 AM) To be fair, we have no idea what Milledge would be doing for this team. I can say one thing for sure, he wouldn't be providing anywhere near the defense that Lilli has. I honestly don't see anything that tells me he would have been hitting as good from him either.
May 31, 201114 yr QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ May 28, 2011 -> 05:30 PM) He said going in. Pierre wasn't terrible last year. I'd rather have Pierre up with runners on than Dunn at this point. At least Pierre can slap a single through the hole and knock in some runs. Dunn can't do anything, not even hit a freaking sac fly. Guy is worthless right now. He'll figure it out or at least i hope he will!
June 1, 201114 yr QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ Jun 1, 2011 -> 06:08 PM) Ozzie giving Walker a lot of the credit for Lilli's success Uhm...of course he is. Ozzie is too loyal.
June 1, 201114 yr I hate to be so obstinate about it, but at this point, if Ozzie doesn't play Lillibridge in place of one of our strugging players, I don't think I'll watch. Brent has earned a chance to play regularly.
June 1, 201114 yr QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ Jun 1, 2011 -> 05:23 PM) Uhm...of course he is. Ozzie is too loyal. Walker can only hurt players, not help. Silly Ozzie
June 1, 201114 yr Rongey tried to compare Lillibridge to Pablo Ozuna on the postgame show today. Call me when Ozuna hits 6 HRs with a slugging of .600+ Ranger. I think Lillibridge is past the point of being exploited when he gets more playing time. He really looks like he's turned things around. The power and turnaround he's showing reminds me a lot of what happened to Ben Zobrist in 09. You don't hit the ball as hard as he has because you're getting lucky. Edited June 1, 201114 yr by chw42

Rongey is alleging the Stealth Elf is dirty?
June 2, 201114 yr Lillibridge has always had very quick hands and bat speed which allowed him to generate good power. The problem was his swing was very long and he had a pretty poor eye.
