Let's just keep playing like we are capable of playing and we'll have our chance in the last 50 games.

I was definitely down on The Bridge. The Battle of Millibridge looked pretty clear that Milledge was the better player, and at the time, he was, but their seasons have really gone opposite ways.

interesting note... again it's just mindboggling how this team fares better vs team over .500 (THEY HAVE THE MOST WINS AGAINST OVER .500 TEAMS IN THE AL!!) compared to against those under .500. And from here on out till the AS break we have only 1 series against a team over .500, the Dbacks.

If only had we played the crappy teams like the way we play against contenders. I just can't see why this team can't do it. Something interesting tho is from what Paul Konerko bought up in the Red Sox series is that the White Sox fed off the energy from the atmosphere at Fenway Park. White Sox swept Red Sox. I wonder if there is a correlation between White Sox winning and the attendance factors at the game. Quite interesting to me.

That is not a new phenomenon either...

I know ehh I swear this has been the same trend from previous seasons as well it's ridiculous which is what drives the fan base crazy.

I was in the camp of not writing him off, and thought he could be OK. I know I had that very argument with you. Granted I didn't think he would be Cy Young, but hey.

I was in that camp, too. And I've said a bunch of times that the Sox could still get back into the race, but that is mainly due to the division being garbage. I've said that the Tigers were the real threat and that the Sox will probably finish with a record around .500, and I stick by all of those things.

I preferred Milledge over Lillibridge, as I saw Brent as only bringing speed to the table. I was obviously wrong about that, but I still believe that Milledge would be a positive for this team.

I'm guilty of 7, 9, and 15. I never believed in the Tribe, I just believed we sucked and hated everything management.

I have probably been the most negative on the Tigers since Day 1, and I still don't feel they are going to be there at the end. I am just not convinced they are anything more than a .500ish team. Maybe that could change if they do some big work at the trading deadline, but I don't see it still.

Well, I guess a .500ish team may win this division. With the Twins coming on hot, we have to worry about them again. I base a lot of my perception on history. We fail more down the stretch than we succeed, and the Twins have a way of coming back. I fully believe we have to let another GM and manager get a crack at this team.

I'm with you here. I still think they suck and their record will eventually show that.

They have 5-6 good players in Verlander/Scherzer/Avila/VMart/MCab and that goofball voodoo closer of theirs...but I feel like our roster top to bottom is significantly better than theirs.

Been saying it the whole time, I just don't think they have enough pitching to truly contend. That said, a few injuries or slumps from us and the Indians and they could easily build a lead while just playing so-so ball.

It it is possible, the Tigers might be better at this than we are.

Definitely guilty of Lillibridge, and I still don't see him as a starter (he's on a hotstreak and you've got to see it out though).

He might be the next Kotsay. When you start to have faith in him...........he returns to his norm or below it.

Proud to say I never was hard on Lili; I honestly don't get where the early season hate came from.

I'm only guilty of 11 and I don't see how that's incorrect, quite frankly.

...I guess I'm the only one who realizes we are still under .500 and 3.5 games back behind...the Cleveland Indians.

Other than Heads and Joecool, nobody on this site thought Humber would be worth s***. And NOBODY, and I mean NOBODY!, thought Lillibridge would morph into a 2009 Ben Zobrist clone. So the haha I told you so bit doesn't fly. That said, the White Sox are in third place. They're still below .500. And they still have a lot of question marks. Let's wait until they're in first place by a few games before all the I told you so's start rolling in.

Let's at least be a .500 team before threads like this start. Sox have been big time underachievers so far in 2011. :snr

If and when the Twins sweep us and/or kick the living s*** out of us this week as they did KC in a four game sweep (Minnie gets that you have to win divisional games, people) this thread would look dumb.

Like the Juan Pierre story in the Trib quoted Juan as saying, the team is playing a little bit better. Juan didn't suggest the team was doing anything to boast about.

Nobody should be starting a thread like this until say, we get five games over .500?? Ten over .500 would be nice. Until then, cmon. The team still has a grade D for its performance this season. We're doing flips over a 6-4 homestand? With our payroll? Wow.

The day I gave up on this team was literally the day they started to make their move last month, so you all are welcome.

But yes, I also thought Lilli and Humber were terrible.

And I think our biggest competition at this point is the Chicago White Sox. I really don't think anyone else in this division is worth a damn but Minny is always scary just cause...

Aren't we getting a bit ahead of ourselves with the Lillibridge love? Don't get me wrong, what he's doing is nice. But I'm still not a believer.

Also, I think I argued with jut about everybody in here about Greg Walker/the hitting. Shockingly, a team full of players with a career track record are hitting. You'd think I would have said "The Earth is flat" when I even suggested this team would hit. Of course, there are no threads praising Greg Walker for his work with Lillibridge. It has to work both ways, guys.

If nothing else, the general sentiment in early April was that keeping Milledge around would win more games this season for the sox than keeping the Stealth Elf. The Elf has emphatically proven that incorect.

I was very impressed with lillibridge work ethic at spring training. He seem to work harder than others. I just thought he was trying to make the team. He works at every aspect of his game and it is paying off for us and Brent.

Man I forgot about the whole Milledge experiment. That is something I was wrong about.

Really though how do we know what Milledge would've done had the Sox kept him?

Exactly.

Well we know he wouldn't be playing the kind of defense of Lillibridge has been playing...

Feels like such a jinx on a night where Indians and Tigers both win by one.

Hasn't exactly been lighting it up in Charlotte.
