July 1, 201114 yr Mark Teahen is already planning for his day with teh cup. http://lockerz.com/s/116042247
July 2, 201114 yr Santos is really growing in confidence. Three games in a row with dominating stuff where there wasn't even a hint of a comeback or threat. Pierre shifting ALL the attention in the line-up back to Mr. Dunn. Bruney has been surprisingly effectively...between him and Humber, two of the best "zero cost" acquisitions of the off-season. Ozzie, please, never ever make Beckham bunt again in those late inning situations. Just let him hit away. Acknowlege what your players are capable of doing and what they're not. Finally, let's also start executing to get those late inning runs on the board from third base and less than 2 outs.
July 2, 201114 yr QUOTE (Heads22 @ Jul 1, 2011 -> 04:42 PM) They always reel us back in. LOL this is so perfectly put. Beating the Cubs, keeping that stupid trophy, and closing in on .500 is nice though. If we can get to and above .500, it'll at least feel like we belong in a race that we've somehow been in despite being below treading water point. Nice to see Juan Pierre actualy contributing lately. It's clear that Ozzie, for some crazy reason, refuses to not play him, so we'd might as well hope he continues to somehow not suck. Maybe some of the other black holes can follow Pierre's lead and playing well for a few days, too! Great job by the bullpen today.
July 2, 201114 yr Watching the replay- lmao @ Alexei fanning Dunn with a towel after he scored from 1st on the triple.
July 2, 201114 yr QUOTE (earthshiner @ Jul 1, 2011 -> 10:56 PM) seems like maybe that loss in Colorado was a big wake up for the team I can't remember them coming back late twice in a row another time this year. It may have happened, but it had to be a long while ago.

QUOTE (earthshiner @ Jul 2, 2011 -> 04:56 AM) seems like maybe that loss in Colorado was a big wake up for the team 1. Great caufield post. Agree on all those points. I think you have pretty much summarized some points about our team. 2.) If the Sox truly have gained a ton of confidence and are a changed team ... I'd like to see a blowout Saturday or one of these days. At some point, are we going to win in a rout over somebody? If we truly have momentum, we need to somehow do what the Rockies did to the Royals today, have a nice, calm, 9-0 victory. Otherwise we're still the White Sox ... plodding along trying to win close games amid trying our best to avoid getting shut out for the 10th time.
July 2, 201114 yr QUOTE (lostfan @ Jul 2, 2011 -> 12:07 AM) What's gotten into Juan Pierre? Did he swallow Adam Dunn's appendix? Maybe he figured out the magical service time formula for Dayan and figured that while he has the undying love from Guillen, Kenny might not be so enthralled. July 2, 201114 yr With Juan, it might just be that a .296 career hitter is reverting to norm. It will be interesting to see if anyone bothers to give guillen any credit for sticking with him should he continue to climb

So a couple of nice games in a row wash away the 3 months of garbage and multiple games lost because of his poor play? Ok
July 2, 201114 yr QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Jul 2, 2011 -> 10:36 AM) LOL. So a couple of nice games in a row wash away the 3 months of garbage and multiple games lost because of his poor play? Ok Thats not what he said, he said "should he continue to climb". He isnt forgiving Juan because he had a good 4 games in a row And if he were to revert to a .296 hitter, then hit second half will be amazing. Im not counting on it, but it would be nice
July 2, 201114 yr Author QUOTE (lostfan @ Jul 2, 2011 -> 01:07 AM) What's gotten into Juan Pierre? Did he swallow Adam Dunn's appendix? I think we're playing 2 teams he's hit well against...and against whom its personal, since he played for/was traded by both of them.
July 2, 201114 yr I think .275-.280 is a likely season for Pierre at this point, given his start. He's never been below .275.
