October 4, 201114 yr Just when you thought things couldn't get weirder. Per Bill Zwecker today: SPORTS SHORT: Hmmm. Mike North has been hanging out at U.S. Cellular Field lately — and I’m hearing it’s about a lot more than just watching the last few games of the White Sox’s 2011 season. Sources say the veteran broadcaster has the ear of Jerry Reinsdorf, and North was seen huddling behind closed doors with other Sox honchos Friday, reportedly about more than just a radio gig.
October 4, 201114 yr QUOTE (Marty34 @ Oct 3, 2011 -> 07:33 PM) Just when you thought things couldn't get weirder. Per Bill Zwecker today: That would really add insult to injury. Get rid of one classless clown (Ozzie), bring in an even more classless clown. I know North wanted to be a color commentator. But I really think that is out of the question. It may be some sort of White Sox programming on CSN. That's the only thing I can think of. I wonder how long until it would be cancelled? The guy is poison in this town. Stay away JR unless you want to alienate the rest of your fanbase. Edited October 4, 201114 yr by Dick Allen

October 4, 201114 yr guys, i think we should just relax. North probably has some quality financial advise for JR. and he also knows of a guy that Jerry can invest all of his money with.

But really, North's involvement with the White Sox would be disheartening.
October 4, 201114 yr I would exchange at least one 2012 win if it meant keeping North away from the radio and tv broadcasts.
October 4, 201114 yr How's this team supposed to grab headlines without some controversial figure within the organization? Snoozers...
October 4, 201114 yr This doesn't bother me. What is North going to do, take over as GM? Get hired as manager? I don't even buy that we'd put him on the radio broadcast, considering his history with The Score.
October 4, 201114 yr QUOTE (klaus kinski @ Oct 4, 2011 -> 08:16 AM) Maybe he can sell hot dogs on the 500 level-the only experience he has. He'll sell shoes with giardiniera on them.

October 4, 201114 yr He may be looking for a gig in the organization in marketing or something. The guy needs to get work I would assume.
