Big Z is about to be Ozzie Guillen's problem.

LOL, not a huge surprise. They are already spending like gang-busters, so what's one season of Z at a high cost(assuming the Cubs don't pay that much.) Plus, they want to attract as much attention as possible to their team, Z excels at that. He has to waive his no -trade clause, so get ready for the "told you players like to play for Ozzie" crowd to step up.

Zambrano prediction in Miami. 17-8, 3.80

I doubt it. I see more of a 4.50 ERA.

The Marlins and Cubs have agreed to a trade that will send Carlos Zambrano to Miami for Chris Volstad, reports Bruce Levine of ESPN Chicago (Twitter links). The trade is still pending physicals and approval from the commissioner's office according to Ken Rosenthal of FOX Sports (Twitter links). The Cubs will pay between $15MM and $16MM of Zambrano's $18MM salary.

Johnson, Buehrle, Zambrano, Nolasco, Sanchez...that should be good enough for a solid 3rd place finish.

Cubs wanted Big Z gone and paid heavy salary wise to do it.

Volstad is even arb-eligible this year, so he'll probably get a million or two in salary. The fins effectively picked up no money.

Muahaha!!!!!

The Cubs pay 15-16 million to get rid of Z??? And now he's playing for Ozzie? Talk about a win-win for sox fans. I bet Ozzie thinks he just added another ace.

Folks in Missouri can't believe the Cubs would trade away a big name player for nothing.

I'll check in two weeks.

Man, Mark probably regrets signing there now.

A big name player & about $14 million in salary. But it's not the fans' money so who cares about that.

Crazy that the Cubs got anything for him at all.

I hear that people in Knoxville are grumbling about it over their liquor too.

No one here cares unless he plays college football.

Do they still have the Tennessee DiamondJacks there?

We will hear the press talk about how volstad and wood make for a solid foundation for a staff.

Actually we have the Tennessee Smokies, who are the Cubs AA affiliate.

So, they could care a little about the Cubs.

A little.

I also see him having a very good year down there. Ozzie might be the one manager who can "train him."

I know it is Zambrano, but that is a huge win for FLA. Now I am really glad Ozzie is gone, because I was convinced Carlos was going to be on the south side if Ozzie stayed here.

They'll have a blowout by the end of the season. And Joe will ignore it to report on Kenny taking a number 2. Bet on it.

Zambrano's a veteran. He knows how to get himself prepared and how to take care of himself.
