October 16, 201312 yr lol, I'm pissed because I want ESPN to be screwed over so hard. But it is kinda funny ripping out the hearts of another CONCACAF team in the final minute. Costa Rica in 2009, Panama in 2013.
October 16, 201312 yr QUOTE (MexSoxFan#1 @ Oct 15, 2013 -> 11:28 PM) What happened, who's out, who's in? I'm at work guys, fill me in. US scores 2 goals in basically stoppage time to win 3-2. Mexico lost 2-1 Mexico moves onto the playoff.
October 16, 201312 yr QUOTE (zenryan @ Oct 15, 2013 -> 10:29 PM) US scores 2 goals in basically stoppage time to win 3-2. Mexico lost 2-1 Mexico moves onto the playoff. The US probably wanted to help Mexico get to the WC. You never know, they might meet in the second round like a few WCs back and it'd be an easy win for TUSA. Mexico can no longer beat their northern neighbors. Of course Mexico would need to get past NZ.

Of course Mexico would need to get past NZ. Honduras and Mexico owe the US big time at some point. Maybe ESPN called Jurgen and offered him huge cash to help get Mexico to Brazil.
October 16, 201312 yr Did that really just happen? Oh my. Poor Panama. I'm sure New Zealand isn't exactly thrilled about the last second change of opponent. At the least, I hope the Mexican fans stop throwing urine at the US players as a thank you.

They should but I doubt it. Keep in mind though, the majority of Mexican fans don't do that, just a few idiots who make the whole look bad. Also, big soccer business down here should somehow gratify Jurgen, he saved them hundreds of millions of dollars that were heading down the sink. Again, they still have to get past NZ. October 16, 201312 yr QUOTE (zenryan @ Oct 15, 2013 -> 10:29 PM) US scores 2 goals in basically stoppage time to win 3-2. Mexico lost 2-1 Mexico moves onto the playoff. Not basically stoppage time, the 92nd and 93rd minutes. Zusi scored at like 1:25 into 3 minutes of stoppage time and the winner came right after. Mexico looked like crap against Costa Rica. They basically gave up after the 75th minute. The way they hex played out, Mexico was clearly the 4th best team. Getting past New Zealand won't be a cinch. I'm not sure if hosting the second leg helps them or not. If New Zealand wins the first leg Mexico could get tight at home like we've seen all hex.
October 17, 201312 yr QUOTE (Sonik22 @ Oct 16, 2013 -> 03:00 PM) Mexican Announcers losing it over USA goals That's Cristian Martinoli with former Atletico Madrid and former Mexican National Team members Luis Garcia and Jorge Campos. Essentially, Martinoli is thanking the US and berating the Mexican side, saying things like the US plays with talent and heart, the guys in green shirts don't, the US gets it done with their B squad, the Mexican team with their arrogant players who play in Europe play like bums, the US goes on to Brazil with their heads held high, Mexico goes ass backwards, etc. He basically rips the Mexican team a new one while praising the US and adds that Vucetich should also resign. He is known for being one of the few honest soccer commentators in Mexico, and not just a lapdog of Big Soccer Business down there. Edited October 17, 201312 yr by MexSoxFan#1
October 18, 201312 yr http://www.foxnews.com/world/2013/10/18/ma...im-over-200000/ A proud grandfather’s wild bet that his toddler grandson would someday play professional soccer paid off when the boy made his debut this week, earning the U.K. man over a quarter of a million dollars. BBC News reports the grandfather of 16-year-old Harry Wilson placed a bet when the boy was only 18 months old that his grandson would one day play for Wales’ national soccer team. Peter Edwards wagered 50 British pounds, or $80.73, and was given odds of 2,500 to one in Wrexham, Wales. On Tuesday Wilson made his debut playing as a substitute against Belgium, making his grandfather very proud, and thousands of dollars richer.
November 6, 201312 yr Brutal first half from Celtic in Amsterdam. Hoping for better in the second half now.
November 13, 201312 yr QUOTE (HickoryHuskers @ Nov 13, 2013 -> 07:26 AM) First leg of NZ-MEX is today. Lets go Kiwis!!!! The new Mexican coach decided not to call up any of their top players from Europe.
November 13, 201312 yr QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Nov 13, 2013 -> 08:59 AM) Lets go Kiwis!!!! The new Mexican coach decided not to call up any of their top players from Europe. Yeah, and said something about not being worried because "Mexico is Mexico". I'll be rooting so hard for New Zealand today
November 13, 201312 yr In the other inter-continental playoff, Uruguay pulled off a 5-0 win in Amman today. Jordan now needs at least a 6-1 victory in Uruguay next week. Good luck to them.
November 13, 201312 yr New Zealand is lucky to only be down two after that first half. Edited November 13, 201312 yr by LittleHurt05
November 13, 201312 yr lol@ these ESPN commentators going over the top about beating New Zealand. lol@ Panama even more now. Had the trip to Brazil basically in the bag and they were dumb enough not to drop everyone behind the ball in the final minutes.
November 15, 201312 yr Good day to have ESPN3. Four Euro WC qualifiers plus a US friendly at Scotland.
November 15, 201312 yr Good draw for Iceland after falling to 10 men. Result still very possible in Zagreb.
November 15, 201312 yr Portugal 1-0 Sweden Ukraine 2-0 France Greece 3-1 Romania US-Scotland still scoreless at 80' in an absolutely dreadful game.
November 15, 201312 yr France loses Koscielny for the return leg due to a red card too. Really hoping Ukraine can finish them off. France deserves that after Henry's handball sent them through 4 years ago
