June 23, 201213 yr I still think Josh Fields would help, and he would not cost much if anything. Sox should not be hung up on defensive shortcomings from 3-4 yrs ago. At least scout him to see if he has improved. At least he can hit more than a little bit. I like your idea, man. I brought that up yesterday. Was pretty much harassed for it. He'd be an improvement over anything we have. How much of an improvement I'm not sure. But when your desperate, it might be worth a shot. Don't tell these guys about it, though. They don't seem to think that minor league numbers mean anything, or that people can improve over time.

The Indians are also getting in the list because they want to make a splash. Valentine and Youkilis getting into it on the record over Youk not getting playing time.
