Also completed Brett Myers deal with #Astros: sent Chris Devenski as PRBNL Wow, Myers trade even better now. And Wise is a perfectly good player to have down at Charlotte. We'll see him again in September. Actually, I wouldn't even be opposed to bringing Wise up and sending Danks back to Charlotte for a month so he can get a good solid months of at bats in before rosters expand Edited August 3, 201213 yr by ChiSox_Sonix

August 3, 201213 yr I like it, as it's someone that can actually run the bases well off the bench. Also, I doubt Ventura will lead him off in games

August 3, 201213 yr As Wise lives in Charlotte, it may just be he signed with us to be at home, regardless of any hope of a callup Edited August 3, 201213 yr by Jose Paniagua
August 3, 201213 yr QUOTE (South Side Fireworks Man @ Aug 3, 2012 -> 04:31 PM) Does Devenski have much potential or is he just minor league filler? He was our 21st pick in the 2011 draft, so probably not. Houston's GM tried to say the PTBNL was a big part of the trade, but it really doesn't appear that way.

August 3, 201213 yr Dewayne Wise, the guy who made my favorite White Sox moment of all time. I haven't followed him much since he left. How was his time with the Jays and Yanks?

August 3, 201213 yr QUOTE (Chicago White Sox @ Aug 3, 2012 -> 02:47 PM) He was our 21st pick in the 2011 draft, so probably not. Houston's GM tried to say the PTBNL was a big part of the trade, but it really doesn't appear that way. Yep. It was that comment that had me worried, but now I can breath a sigh of relief. For all I know the guy can turn into a Liriano, but right now, he was nothing more then a guy with a limited chance at every making the show. The Myers deal really looks good (on the diamond). There are still the personal issues that I have a problem with.
August 3, 201213 yr QUOTE (greg775 @ Aug 3, 2012 -> 05:05 PM) He's back. Now we have to bring back the other half of "the catch." You mean the guy who hit the ball?
August 3, 201213 yr QUOTE (IowanSoxFan @ Aug 3, 2012 -> 06:04 PM) Dewayne Wise, the guy who made my favorite White Sox moment of all time. I haven't followed him much since he left. How was his time with the Jays and Yanks? The word "MEH" should sum up his time with the Jays/Yanks.

How was his time with the Jays and Yanks? You mean his time with the Jays, Marlins, Jays and Yanks? He's been really good on the base paths, that's about it.

August 3, 201213 yr QUOTE (TaylorStSox @ Aug 3, 2012 -> 10:29 PM) You mean the guy who hit the ball? Hawk wouldn't be able to contain his excitement if Gabe Kapler was on the Sox.
August 4, 201213 yr QUOTE (fathom @ Aug 3, 2012 -> 07:45 PM) Hawk wouldn't be able to contain his excitement if Gabe Kapler was on the Sox. I don't know, he probably needs Cialis at his age, anyway.
